It took us 3 hours to complete this trip, including the time we spent at the top. Enjoyed the hike, but it was uphill all the way and we took plenty of rest breaks. Definitely take water and good shoes.

Hiked the trail after biking from Glenwood Springs so we did not have to worry about parking. It is a 1.2 mile climb on a rocky trail but worth every step. Need decent shoes and for those who are not used to climbing or the altitude, plenty of places to rest. Make sure to take adequate water. Don't miss Sprouting... More

Amazing experience. Be patient in parking lot, cars arr changing very often. Disadvantage is many people on the way. But it was nice.

Lovely Lake with clear sparkling blue/green water. No swimming here. Places to sit and enjoy the sights. Would be a nice spot to bring and eat some lunch. On a busy July day there were a bunch of people but it wasn't a big deal. Definitely go on to Sprouting Rock - it's just a few minutes further and worth... More

We had considered skipping this hike, but are so glad we didn't!! It is a well worn trail, but do not let that make you think it is not a good steep hike! It is! the constant travel on it actually makes some of the rocks quite slick and you need to watch your step. If you have kiddos or... More

Mother Nature at her best. This is a beautiful lake that looks like it is suspended between waterfalls. Crystal clear. Highly recommend.

Gorgeous lake. The trail is easy to get to. Parking at trail head. Most guides suggest you get there eary a.m. We arrived after dinner and found plenty of parking and while there was traffic on the trail we didn't feel surrounded! We wee actually alone at the lake for a short period. Don't forget to climb the spur trail... More

Loved this place! If you love waterfalls, it's the place to go. Throughout the trail, there's a stream or waterfall you enjoy. Then at the end of the trail it's even better with the hanging lake and then a waterfall above it which you do need to hike more to but totally worth it.

A moderate hike but not difficult for those who like to trek. Stunning view of water falls and crystal clear water at the top. You follow a beautiful downhill running stream for almost your entire hike up the trail, giving you dozens of great picture opprtunities to either set your timer or get a fellow hiker to snap a shot!... You'll make a gorgeous hike to see this lake, and it is so worth it. Amazing fish swimming in Hanging Lake, with a surreal waterfall backdrop. The hike will be challenging for the less than athletic, but achievable. Just make sure to rest along the way and drink plenty of H2O!
