Stunning Lake Dillon

We booked our kayaking tour on line and received clear and concise instructions on when and where to arrive. That was a great start. Upon arrival the tour guide introduced himself and gave safely/kayaking instructions. The guide was also a physical therapist so he gave many tips on the upper body/core movements, and how to sit, slightly leaning forward and rotate the torso. This really helped in having no pains after the kayaking. The company also provided splash guards which was awesome as the water was cold 🥶! Everything went perfectly during our 2.5 hour tour from the group being a small group of 4 couples and one single. We had goals we would kayak to, where the guide would discuss the lake, birds & nests, the mountain ranges and some HX of Dillon. The guide took many photos and showed a number best photo opportunity spots. We were the last in the group and he even offered to tow us if we wanted. Thankfully we didn’t need that! The water was calm and sparkling and the activity got us a great start to the day. 9-11:30am is a terrific time to go. Our daughter was in the single kayak and said she felt very stable & safe, although she did get a good workout.

Great Tour

We have been to the Summit County area before but had not had the opportunity to get out on Lake Dillon. The 2.5 hour kayak tour was perfect. Ryan was a great guide full of information about the area history and wildlife as your recreate on the lake He also made sure we were all safe on what can be a busy lake. Due to my procrastination in booking we were on the 11:30 tour but the weather/wind cooperated and it was a great day and perfect tour. Would not heistate to recommend this tour to others.

Gorgeous Family Outing

I signed up for the family Kayak tour with my 8 year old daughter and my 10 year old son. The guide was fantastic and pointed out the wildlife and the mountains situated around the lake. He also went out of his way to make sure that we had a family picture together, which was much appreciated given that it's just me (single mom) and the kids. My son was paired with the guide and my son was able to take a turn at steering the kayak and practicing with the paddle. Add on the fact that it was an overall gorgeous setting on a perfect day, and it was a rock solid adventure to close our trip on! Thank you, Adventure Paddle Tours!

Beautiful Mountain Kayaking

We really enjoyed the family tour. It was just the right length for myself and two teens with not much experience on the water. Our guide was very helpful and she made me feel safe trying this new activity. She gave a lot of cool history about the mountains surrounding Lake Dillon as well as history on the town of Breckenridge. We are so glad we tried kayaking for the first time!! Very peaceful on the water!!!!

A lot of fun for a first timer

My first time kayaking was a lot easier than I expected. I really thought that I would tip over but our tour guide, Ryan, gave us instruction and tips on how to stay dry. He definitely knows what he is doing, was very knowledgeable on the area, and was able to help us cover a lot of "ground" on the reservoir.

Kayaking Lake Dillon with APT is the BEST!

We have been doing kayak tours on Lake Dillon with Kyle for 10 years. We enjoy it every time. It's very relaxing to be out there enjoying the mountain views from the water. Kyle always adds great and new information about the area, the wildlife, and the camping and hiking opportunities. If you want to take a kayak trip, Adventure Paddle Tours is the only way to go. Fun kayak trip

We went with a group with different levels of experience and all felt comfortable and had a good time. Our guide Brittany gave us a great tutorial, checked in with us regularly to make sure we were doing okay, and gave us a lot of information about the lake, mountains, and surrounding area. We got to see nesting osprey and herons. It was a fun and unique way to explore the area and we would definitely recommend it!

Perfect Paddle

My husband and I just enjoyed an absolutely wonderful morning kayaking with this exceptional tour company. Our friendly guide Norris was very knowledgeable about the local wildlife as well as navigating around just about every island and cove in the lake. We saw moose, bald eagles, osprey, etc. Being avid kayakers from Florida, we've always wanted to kayak in a Colorado lake, surrounded by majestic mountains. We'll treasure this memory. Great day on the lake!

Our guide was extreme knowledgeable about all of the plants and wildlife, making this a great tour of Lake Dillon. He checked in often to make sure we were safe. We all had an amazing experience, including our kids (6 and 9 years old). This was a great Colorado experience that we won’t forget!

Kayaking on Lake Dillon

Our group of 6 had a great time kayaking around Lake Dillon in Colorado. Our guide gave us clear instructions (some of us had never kayaked before) and told us all kinds of things about the areas/mountains around the lake. Would definitely do it again!

Unfortunately, no. I love dogs but we never know how other people on the tour will react to dogs and non of our guides have any rescue training involving dogs. Sorry!

Hi Careen, you can absolutely launch your own kayak on Dillon from multiple locations. The Frisco marina (where we are located), the Dillon marina (not recommended due to exposure), Dillon dam rd, snake river inlet and the blue river inlet are all options. As far as using your own kayak on a tour goes, we prefer guests use our gear. A few of the tours venture out to some exposed area that can potentially get pretty rough and we know our boats can handle that type of water.
