We had a great trip on the Poudre River. We booked the Poudre Extreme on the Upper Poudre. It was just 3 of us and by getting the Extreme, it enbabled us to get a smaller raft and made the rapids bigger and was a more personalized experience. They did call us and mentioned water was lower on the upper and moves us to the lower and gave us a small refund for the difference We had Dalton as our guide and he was great. We did some extra stunts and he let us take some minor riskier lines and i appreciated him seeing and identifying bird species in the canyon. The canyon view is a huge pro. We even were able to do a high side maneuver. I wish the water level was a little higher, but you cant complain for late July with less snow melt. We've rafted multiple times and Mountain Whtewater really emphasized safety as they had a pre-raft saftety meeting. Also, multiple people made sure the life jacket was tight. And they also were doing there best with Covid safety procedures. The place was clean and really cool place to hang out afterwards with a drink. We felt very safe throughout the process. I would recommend the extreme, its $30 more per person and the advantage was that it was a personalized experience and the guide did a lot more technical maneuvers and could take riskier lines, which is great if you're trying to get some an extra adrenilin rush.

Our family of 4 adults has rafted many times on well known rivers (Ocoee, Snake, Arkansas, Colorado, Kicking Horse, Natahala to name a few). We were in The RMNP area and found Mtn Whitewater in Fort Collins and decided to try the Poudre for the 1/2 day Plunge. So glad we did. Company was well organized and equipped. Our guide, Jack, was probably one of the best and most personable guides we have ever had in our 30 years of rafting. Funny, great personality-but professional and safety conscious for our total group. And yes, the larger group had several swimmers that day! Jack was the lead guide in a trip of 5 rafts and was quick and ready to render help to any rafter who found themselves suddenly without a raft. We would strongly recommend to anyone looking for a trip with lots of action and beautiful scenery.

We did the half day Poudre Plunge and it was seriously fun. We had never rafted before, and it was perfectly fine for us to do it, and at the same time you could tell that there were others with experience in the other rafts. Dalton was our guide. He did an amazing job keeping us on task and you know he did a lot of the work. We rowed a lot and when he told us, and he guided us through a ton of class 3 rapids and three class 4s. We had three kids (15, 12, & 9) with us, and they held their own. I would say that it was fine for all of them to go on the trip. That being said, I have to give special thanks to Dalton. My wife was very concerned that my 9 year old daughter was going to fall out, and I noticed over my shoulder several time that he grabbed her to make sure she stayed in the boat. Class act!
They did a decent job of social distancing. We had to wear masks as soon as we got there, and you had to wear them on the bus trip (which they tried to distance you from other groups), but you then took them off and left them on the bus. At that point it was not great because everyone was standing very close to each other like everything was fine, but I don’t know how else to do it.
It was about a 3 hour trip, which went by very fast, but it was the perfect amount of time. I would highly recommend his trip!

I have whitewater rafted many times over the years on different rivers with different compamany, and Mountain Whitewater is one of the best. Their slogan " Our guides make the difference" is true. We had Bobby as our guide and it was evident his experience made even technical class IV rapids seem easy. He was entertaining, but was all business when it was time to get to work. Our boat had 2 experienced adults and 4 novice teens. Because of his skill, our raft was able to move efficiently through the class IV rapids. Enjoyed the pooder plunge experience. Safety was a top priority with Mountain Whitewater from the initial safety briefing to the first boat through a major rapid eddying to the shore to ensure all the following boats and guests also made it safely. On Covid 19 procedures; all the equipment and boats were cleaned after each use. Guest are required to wear mask all the time except while on the river in the raft. Looking forward to my next trip on the river. I'm going to do the the full day trip. Keep up the great work.

Such an awesome day!! This was our second time whitewater rafting on the Cache La Poudre but our first time with Mountain Whitewater and I must say this was a much better experience! It was fun, a longer trip than the first one we tried two years ago with a different company, and exciting on all sorts of levels!
The staff was professional and they care about your safety in and out of the boat (masks, sanitizing (thanks covid19)). Coe was our fearless leader in the boat and he was SO GREAT!! We had our family of 4 in the boat with a pair (father/son) and my 20 yo and 17 yo loved the experience as much as the older adults did! Favorite part of our vacation.
When you looked into other boats there were smiles everywhere and all the guides we encountered today were friendly and knowledgable. We feel the price is fair for such an awesome experience. We purchased the pictures too (also cheaper than the first company we used two years ago). I would book another trip with Mountain Whitewater every time we visit Fort Collins
Thank you, Coe, for getting us safely through the rapids while we had fun and laughed a lot. Thank you, Mountain Whitewater, for having high standards for the guides and operating so safely. What a fun, exciting experience!!

A group of friends and I went this past week, which was a first for many of us, and I can say with certainty it was one of the highlights of our trip. We had Casey as our guide and I would 10/10 recommend him. He was very informative about the whole experience on the water and made it fun for everyone! Even when it got a little chaotic with another raft flipping over, Casey knew exactly how to direct us and make our group feel confident in him as a guide and safe. Overall, I would recommend this place to anyone who is debating about going-the experience was unreal!

This was our first time using this company to go whitewater rafting. Our reservation with another company unfortunately just didn't pan out this season but that is okay!
Dalton made the safety talk actually pretty interesting. It was definitely the most clever and entertaining way i have heard the information presented. Still covering all the information and it actually may have been more detailed.
We had 2 guides since we were a party of 11. Kramer and Mason both did fantastic jobs! Mason had our group of 6 teens. All of them had gone rafting before except one. From what i heard and saw they all had a blast.
Kramer was in our boat. he was very knowledgable. Directions were clear. Because of the dirty water we did get stuck a few times on big rocks that were hiding but he always managed to get us unstuck or direct us on what we needed to do. We made it down all the big rapids though with clear and concise directions. No one in our group fell in the water. And the experience was fantastic.
Pictures are fairly priced if you want them. $20 for a single. or if you want all of them including a small video clip that was $60. If you had more than one boat in your party it was $15 extra for that.
We were all very happy with our experience! Thank you mountain whitewater we will be back in the future for more fun!

Had a blast rafting. The guides were all great, especially Coe. He kept us safe and made us feel we were the best rafters even when we had a high side early on in the trip. Lots of great rapids along the river and even saw some long horn sheep along the way. Loved the pictures and video of the trip as well. Would definitely recommend this rafting company to anyone interested in rafting cache la poudre.

We took our family of 7 (kids age 10 to 17) on the half day splash trip and had an absolute blast! Our guide Casey was AWESOME! He was very experienced and engaging during our trip. We had so much fun and the Poudre River was exciting to navigate. They took photos and videos of our trip and we got a digital copy for $60. The photos were awesome!
Best of all was watching my kids gain experience and confidence doing something they have never tried before. We really can't say enough about Mountain Whitewater and Casey. We can't wait to come back to Fort Collins and go again.

I went rafting on Saturday, July 24, 2021, two days after there was a flash flood in Poudre Canyon. The Mountain Whitewater guides (Andrew, Cameron, Spencer, Mason, Tiny (Jacq), Taylor, and Dalton) were vigilant about safety and also engaging and charmingly hilarious. On the water they looked out for each other and made sure everyone was okay.
Before we boarded the bus, we listened to Dalton's safety talk which was comprehensive and his use of humor throughout ensured everyone paid attention.
On the river, Dalton had an impressive knowledge of the canyon geology and wildlife, which he shared with us as we went through “boogie water." During the more exciting parts of the river, his directions were delivered with confident intensity that had everyone in our raft working together as well as we could and after which, we’d celebrate with a “paddle high five.”
Dalton also took point, along with Taylor, another guide who was riding with us, on rescuing a man who had fallen out of another raft. There was no time to freak out about anything. He just jumped into action and was calm, cool, and collected. He directed our raft into place, jumped out, and he and Taylor had the man in our raft in just a few minutes. The guy was a little shaken but Dalton‘s kind competence helped him calm down and reorient. Dalton also welcomed the man to the Poudre River Swim Team, which brought levity to what had been an intense situation for everyone. Shortly thereafter, the gentleman was transferred back into his original raft and we continued down the river.
Overall, the entire Mountain Whitewater team made the experience easy, fun, and memorable. The website is full of easy-to-find information. Making a reservation was a breeze. Every member of the staff I spoke with was welcoming, kind and helpful. I had a great time and 10/10 would definitely would go again!

Not sure if you mean what is the meaning of rapid levels or if you mean what are the current levels. Forgive me if my answer seems condescending because of that uncertainty. As the water levels in the river increase as snow melts or rain falls and decrease with low rain fall and high temperatures, the turbulence in the river and the proximity of rocks and boulders to the surface change. Google "International Scale of River Difficulty for descriptions of the different classes of river rapids. Hope this helps!
