About
The Gardens on Spring Creek is the community botanic garden of Fort Collins, Colorado. The 18-acre site opened in 2004 as part of a vital public/private partnership between the City of Fort Collins and the Friends of the Gardens on Spring Creek. Our mission is to enrich the lives of people and foster environmental stewardship through horticulture. The Gardens just re-opened after a two-year expansion adding 5 new acres of developed gardens, a new permanent Butterfly House, and renovated Visitor's Center and Gift Shop. Admission rates apply.

Nice gardens and great butterfly house
May 2021 • Friends
We took my mother to the Gardens on Spring Creek on a Saturday in May. It was early in the season so not a lot of flowering plants but still a nice area to walk through. We went in the butterfly house and thoroughly enjoyed it! The children’s garden look like it needed some repair and upkeep and hopefully they will get that completed before summer as it would be a great place for most kids to explore. Looks like a great place to also see an outdoor concert in the evening. There aren’t a lot of trees or shade so it did get pretty hot on this particular day. They have a nice gift shop with some unique items.

Night Time Delight
Jan 2020
What a great experience to take the grandkids to the nighttime Xmas display, a fantasmagorical light show with some very good exhibits. The little dwarf (elves) workshop was a huge hit with our 2 1/2 year old grandson. The night was fantastic, cold and crisp, but with so many warm lights, and many happy people, it was magical. Thanks to all of the great volunteers, decorators, and managers - so well done. Keep up the great work, will be back next year for sure. What a fantastic exhibit.

One of our most used memberships in Fort Collins
Nov 2019
We attended one of the special "member preview days" in November and made multiple trips to see the beautiful "garden holiday lights" in December. Wonderful lay out and stage / venue for concerts which was utilized by Santa each night (a pleasant surprise, we didn't realize Santa would be there and give each child a toy!) The butterfly house provided a warm, humid escape from the cold air and my toddler loved finding the butterflies as well as looking at the cocoons. As a mom, I REALLY appreciated the family bathroom with private changing table. Big enough to easily fit our double stroller as well as the whole family for diaper changes. Volunteers/staff members were very helpful and kind! Looking forward to future events this spring/summer

Nice place to visit
Oct 2019
It's quite large and varied in terms of what sculpture is exhibited. There are walking paths that make it easy to visit - even with a wheel chair or stroller. I didn't see any pieces I'd need to see again but it's a nice place to be outside and get a taste of local culture.

I didn't have high hopes for this botanic garden as I've been to some of the best in the west but it's great. During the height of Colorado's growing season the place is alive with color.

If you love plants and flowers, it's a must visit in Fort Collins.

Fabulous place to visit any time of year
Dec 2018 • Family
Fabulous! Every tie I visit I am impressed with the Gardens on Spring Creek. They continue to expand and offer classes, exhibits and beautiful plants as well as gifts to purchase.

They also offer space for events.

During the holiday season they have a unique and beautiful festival of lights that is not to be missed

Every time I come here I'm pleasantly surprised at the diversity of plants and the good labels and explanations. Definitely worth a visit if you want to know about Colorado plants.
