This was the best ride I have had on a vacation. The guides were fantastic. They actually let us cantor and they do not ride nose to tail. It was a very scenic ride along the middle fork of the river. To get there from FairPlay, highway 285 to highway 9 and it is 6 miles on the right on... More

This was the best horseback riding experience bar none. Unlike all the guided, prescribed, slow trail rides, this was raw and free. Guides were the real deal. Wish I could give it 6 stars!

We took our two boys here for horseback riding while staying in Breckenridge, and we had a wonderful time. Their horses are well-trained, happy, and healthy. Our guides were knowledgable, friendly, and experienced. The trail is beautiful, and we covered a lot of ground - crossed streams, went through the trees, and meandered up a hill to view the mountains... More

This was our 2nd trip to Platte Ranch. We spent almost 3 hours on the "trail." Unlike other rides, this is not a mere nose-to-tail activity. Riders are free to turn around, ride side-by-side, and guide their horses as they see fit. Between the ranch and some BLM land, there are 15,000+ acres. After matching riders to horses, you'll ascend/decend... More

This is a beautifuil place. We were just driving by and my husband wanted to stop and ask questions about hay. The owner was outside and was so gracious to us.. She showed us around the ranch and answered all the questions James ask. We were there long enough to see the Elk come down from the mountains. It is... More

Fantastic 2 hour ride. Guides were knowledgable and playful. My two 7 year olds built there confidence with friendly guides. I liked that we weren't just marching in a line and were able to trot and run if we felt comfortable.

No mindless nose-to-tail riding on half-asleep horses here! The horses were clean, alert and full of personality, and we were allowed to ride side by side, spread out through the meadows, and guide our own horses. Those who wanted to could trot or lope, and those who wanted to simply walk could do so. The guides were excellent - we... More

My wife and I took 3 teenagers on a 2 hour ride that was absolutely spectacular. This is the 6th different place I have ridden in Colorado and without a doubt my favorite. Hope to be back when there is snow on the ground. The best family horseback ride in the Rockies!

The guide, "Alphabet", was very enthusiastic and was full of knowledge. We were horseback riding in snow. The horses were suited for the correct rider's weight. The kids loved their dogs and other farm animals that were there. This was definitely the highlight of our trip. The guide taught us how to trot and do other things with the horses.... More

I took my family for a ride here and we enjoyed it a lot. I have 3 young kids ages 7 to 12. The 7 year old had a blast and she is afraid of animals. The horses were so calm that she never felt afraid and just had the time of her life riding her horse. Sometimes we went... More
