Visiting Breckenridge, we wanted to have a great day of horseback riding. Our concierge recommended Platte Ranch. Our drive there was beautiful and scenic; and you go through South Park; yes, that South Park so stop and get some photos! The snow moved in and...More
I love our visit to Breckenridge but I have to say The the platte Ranch horse riding tour was my top point of this trip. Our guides - Sean and josh were great. They rode with us and pointed out points of interest and gave...More
This is the 3rd place we've tried in the Breckenridge are we had a great time. Love the free range option although the horses will tend towards nose to tail for the less adventurous. Our guides Josh and Rob were fun and encouraged us to...More
The BEST horseback riding near Breckenridge!! Not a nose to tail ride. You are actually able to open up your horse and run!! The entire staff is amazing. Thank you Tigger, Amy, Josh, Wendy, Rob (and my sweet horse Butch) for an amazing day!! Definitely...More
We can’t say enough GREAT words about our experience at Platte Ranch. Thank you to our guides Amy, Josh, Kelsey & Lizzy for being so personable, patient and kind - especially to our boys. The ranch has the most spectacular views in CO. It was...More
We rode just the four of us with two guides, both named Josh and both great. There was more freedom to not just stay in a straight line and we all had the opportunity to trot and canter as we wanted. The area we rode...More
We were a party of 8- most of us riding for the first time and it was great.👍🏻 The kids (7 and 9) had a blast and the horses were so sweet. They each had a distinct personality which was fun to watch out on...More
This was my second time riding here and first with my teenage daughters. Most importantly I would say they really make you feel like a rider and not cargo. You can control your horse as much as you want to, unlike so many rides were...More
We had a group with mixed abilities and Amy and her crew were able to accommodate us. Everyone was paired with a horse that matched their ability. My daughters who were experienced horse riders were able to canter during the ride while my niece who...More

Since this is a "open" trail ride, I would not let young kids (under 10) ride alone unless they have some experience. The horses are great, and Amy takes time in matching a horse with the rider. I loved this ride because it... More
Since this is a "open" trail ride, I would not let young kids (under 10) ride alone unless they have some experience. The horses are great, and Amy takes time in matching a horse with the rider. I loved this ride because it was open. However, this also allows the horse to trot and gallop more often if the rider does not know how to control the horse.
Yes. They have a good selection of horses andare well trained. They matched the 3 of us up to horses based on experience. My daughter rides every week, I rode a lot 30+ years ago and my wife had only ridden once before. The... More
Yes. They have a good selection of horses andare well trained. They matched the 3 of us up to horses based on experience. My daughter rides every week, I rode a lot 30+ years ago and my wife had only ridden once before. The horses we each got matched us perfectly. Also the ride had 2 VERY experienced guides. I firmly believe they have seen it all and can handle any situation.
