James Ranch is a small roadside stand with a limited menu for lunch. The food was good, they have outdoor picnic tables and a Gazebo to sit and enjoy the view while eating.

This was one of the most relaxing things we did while in Durango. It allowed our large group time out of busy week to just hang out in a beautiful setting and enjoy some great music and food.

Absolutely! The restaurant is very casual and has outside seating so as long as your dog is on a leash, it should be fine.

We arrived in Durango yesterday after stops in Taos and Pagosa Springs, We got into our condo early with the help of the manager, Walked down to the Diamond Belle and REALLY enjoyed their happy hour. Went up the road to Honeyville for some whipped honey and James Ranch for lunch ( good hamburger), meat and cheese, ( talked to Jennifer who gave us the tour last year and...More

Itinerary help (3 Replies)
Hi, I booked a Mesa Verda tour on Thursday July 6th & train from Durango to Silverton with bus back the next day. I have an extra day. I can't decide: James ranch( is it far from Durango?) Jeep tour from durango See if I can book buck horn limo for silverton/orray ( gold mine& scenery) Vallecito lake Or should I do something else? Thanks for any help!

I'd see if you could upgrade to the train/ jeep tour combination trip, then get either a different jeep tour or the limo trip. Look for jeep tours that go north from Durango (or that start in Silverton) like Alpine Loop or Ophir Pass to Telluride. I'd have to look at the itinerary..I don't know if there's an Ophir Pass-Telluride-Imogene Pass-Ouray tour that departs from Durango, but if there is, that would be a good one. An Alpine Loop tour would also be good.
