We go to Durango a couple times a year and look for great walks and hikes to walk the dogs. This walk is one of the best we've been on. We end up walking it almost every other day from 32nd to highway 160 and back. Then we do hikes the other days.

We walked along this trail from Santa Rita park, for about a mile one way and turned around and went back. The trail is right up by the river, and we saw several ducks, fish and other birds that we didn't recognize. The only issue that we had was the other individual utilizing the trail that were biking. We had... More

This trail winds through town and over and alongside the Animas River. It is a wide, concrete trail, and there are many spots in town where you can get off and on it. Great views, very pleasant biking or walking. Lots of friendly people and dogs!

The Animas River trail is great for a run, though one from sea level will feel the altitude. It's well paved and scenic, with few traffic crossings, and very accessible from downtown Durango If you head downriver to the unpaved, dog friendly trail there are signs to beware of rattlesnakes.

We walked along the river trail last week enjoying the recently cool weather. Dog and bike friendly. Lots of fun.

We were on a trip with our mountain bikes and decided to spend part of one day riding on this trail. It's a paved surface along the river with a lot of changing scenery. We rode the whole trail both directions, some of it goes behind restaurants, hotels and other businesses, some through parks and some of it gets a... More

We strolled along the Animas River twice during our stay in Durango. Once in the evening after dinner on the north end of town. And then again south of town the next morning before hitting the road. The river is beautiful and the city is doing a great job keeping the trail nicely maintained.

A really pretty walking trail. The best thing about it is the park on the South end of it. Lots of kid activities. Also a good place to watch the rafts as they come down the river.

This trail is amazing. It is so beautiful along the Animas River. We biked the trail along with people walking, running and relaxing on benches. We got to watch people in the river kayaking, tubing and everything else. What a beautiful place. This trail is great for anybody.
