This is a good trail to walk and bicycle. It is mostly in the shade, which is very nice. The bridges over the river are cool too. Great place!

The beauty of this river is undeniable ! The ripples ,the rocks, the views will have you thinking you're hiking far away, but really you are close to Durango and everything else you can do there !

Nice, level surfaced trail, good for walking or cycling. Plenty of boats, anglers etc to look at, plenty shade so a welcome relief once you've done the shops and restaurants.

This a relaxing experince. You can take a walk next to the river. It's a beautiful place. You can also just sit and listen to the sound of the flowing water. Its for everyone and a must to see.

A well paved and signposted walk along the riverside but definitely spoiled by many young folk and homeless people sleeping rough. It was Sunday early afternoon and maybe that wasn't the best time to sample the area. Lovely scenery for the most part and great to see so many rafts passing by.

We thoroughly enjoyed riding our bikes along the Animus River trail. There was plenty of shade and many places along the way to stop for a rest or picnic. The trail goes back and forth across the river and it was enjoyable seeing people rafting in the river. This is an easy ride, mostly flat. No steep hills. Park at... More

My family did he lower Animas with our 3 kids (the youngest 4). It was a 4 hour trip total and we had Byron, he was great. At one point we pulled to shore before where the river is a little too big for the small kids the a few staff members took our kids past the big rapids and... More

Our family (kids 9&12) enjoyed walking and especially biking this trail. We rented bikes from Pedal the Peaks and took the trail south to the terminus. There are some hills, but everyone was able to handle them. Nothing to scare you off- and we are flat-landers. The scenery is beautiful- abundant places to picnic, play, or just take it in.

This path is wide and paved. It goes up and down to keep the heart pumping. The views are amazing. We enjoyed going back and forth across the river over the bridges.
