It was a great walk for my mom and I. We were worried that the snow would keep us from seeing the town but the trail is kept clear and enjoyable all seasons.

Nice paved path along the river. With river on your right it provides a decent length bike ride, the other way is only perhaps a mile before emptying into residential neighbor although one can continue to walk for a bit.

A well maintained and easily accessible trail. Beautiful Autumn colours and in the sunshine the whole area looked incredible. The down side is the groups of men that hang around there. I got to the area just behind Albertsons and there were two groups of...More

A nice walk through Durango along the river. Sidewalk and paved areas. You can take a long or short walk; detour to main; stop for a bite to eat, a cup of coffee, or a craft beer if you choose to do so. Several walking...More

This our favorite part of Durango. So pretty. You can’t beat a walk on the trail on a gorgeous fall day.

Lovely trail that crosses the Animas River and winds along both sides of the river amongst beautiful trees. The problem my wife and I encountered were the panhandlers and transients all along the trail and in the parks along the trail.

The Animas River Trail is a beautiful trail that changes in scenery, offers opportunities to have lunch or dinner, explore the fish hatchery and enjoy what Durango has to offer

The Animas Trail is very nice. It is shady and there are bridges so you can turn around and see the other side if you don't want to continue. It's mostly an easy walk with a few slight inclines.

This paved path is pretty busy -- lots of walkers, runners, and bikers. I enjoyed crossing the river on several footbridges, allowing views from both sides of the river. The fish hatchery was a nice "surprise" stop along the route. It was a little warm...More

Nothing crazy about the trail, but there are some pretty views of the river from it. Although, the river was mostly muddy.
