About
We will show you how to ride one of our Polaris snowmobiles and send you out with one of our mountain guides. We have the most variety to offer with 35,000 acres of terrain, over 75 miles of trail, plus our own trail grooming equipment. There is a lot to choose from: meadow play grounds, old mine sites, stage coach trails, mountain passes, scenic overlooks, old log cabins, or just sight seeing and playing in the snow. Most importantly we will have fun - that's our specialty.

Everything about snowmobile adventures was an excellent experience. They were kind, patient and the snowmobile tour was excellent and fun for everyone including the hard to please teenagers. I highly recommend snowmobile adventures if you are in Durango Colorado

    Best Snowmobile Trip Ever!
I loved everything about this trip! Alex our guide was amazing and fun. He showed us beautiful sites and was just an amazing guide over all. I would recommend a private tour if you are in the need for speed. Just an amazing experience.

    Excellent experience
Our guide Alex was awesome! Not only did he help us with our grandkids, but when I lost my phone, he went back and found it for me. They also met me in Durango and delivered my phone to me. Great experience and awesome memories! Top notch business and great customer service!

    Fantastic Family Adventure
This was our first time snowmobiling and we had a great time. The views were fantastic, the guide was great, and the snowmobiles were exciting and fun. We had two 2-seaters, and even the people that didn't drive had an excellent time. We would do this again in a heartbeat. We all highly recommend.

    First Time Snowmobilers
I went with my wife and two daughters. We rented two 2-person snowmobiles. The trail was great. The views were great. The guide was great. All four of us, needless to say, had a great time. I would recommend this activity to everyone visiting Durango.

    Gorgeous ride at Purgatory Mountain
Had a great 2 hour ride. Scenery is superb and ride was so fun. Got to spend some time racing in the flat meadow! Guide was very good with interesting tid bits and a great leader thru the trails.

    What a ride!
We are a family of 11, with 4 children aged 7-10, and we all had a blast! Our guide (last name was Kies) was literally the best we’ve ever had, and we’ve snowmobiled in several different towns. He was patient, funny, skilled, and truly cared that we had the best ride ever. He took pics for us (with a hilarious photobomb!) and took the kids on his snowmobile for a wild (& safe) ride in the fresh powder. And the views are just spectacular! We couldn’t have asked for anything more. The best end to our incredible family vacation.

    Best part of my trip!
My family of 14 took a ski trip. I didn’t enjoy skiing like the others. It was my first time and everyone else had skiied before. I booked a snowmobile tour and then my 9 yr old daughter decided to go to. We both loved it! We had the best views of the whole trip and actual time to enjoy the views of the mountains. Got to see the backcountry. The machines were easy to run. My daughter actually said she almost fell asleep because the seat was so comfy, lol. Bella was our guide and he made sure we had a great time!

    Great Experience
Bella was a great guide. Moved along at a good pace while maintaining safety and ensuring all were following. Great stops. Enjoyed the high peak photos and the meadow free roam.

Mike the guide was excellent and the scenery was also great, but our mixed group of 12 sleds kept getting separated so we always had to stop and wait for them and a few times Mike the guide had to go back and find the rest of the group. We never got over 30 mph except for the 5 minutes that we got to do the oval track in the meadow. We would have had more time but the entire group paid the price for having a couple of sleds that couldn't keep up with us. Since it was the 2:30 ride, there was not another group after us so I feel we should not have been cheated the "run wild" time in the meadow because of one or two drivers that couldn't keep up.

Hey there ! We are glad that you enjoyed Mike and the scenery . Sorry that you felt cheated on your tour. Our tours cap out at 7 snowmobiles per guide unless a big group requests to ride together. Next time maybe split the group into advanced / mellow riders . We also offer Private tours for people who want to ride at their skill level . Thanks for riding with us !

JJ was an AMAZING guide and made us feel safe and comfortable as newbie snowmobile riders. He was very knowledge, patient, and gladly offered to take family photos for us at every stop!
The entire tour took about 2 hours. We started at Purgatory resort and went up the mountain, through forests, admiring beautiful scenery along the way. We stopped about every 15 minutes to walk around, water break, take photos. (By the way, bring a small water bottle that will stay put and not fall out) every stop offered amazing views but the views at the very top were spectacular just as JJ said they would be.
Definitely worth every penny. I would strongly recommend this tour if you want to have fun, get some awesome photos, and capture an instagram-worthy panoramic view of beautiful Durango!

My husband and I went snowmobiling in Wyoming thru Yellowstone and we thought that was cool until we came here. We opted for a 3 hour private tour because we wanted to show our kids how fun it would be. Our guide Moses took us up 12,000 ft thru trails that were not touched by other groups. Plus our kiddos got a private little hill of snow tubing. Just another perk of paying a little extra. I'm sure being in a group is fine, but we like to play hard and go fast. Now he stopped us all along the way to show us the coolest things. Our girls got to lay in a hole where a moose bedded down - how cool is that. Plus we all kinds of animal tracks in the fresh powder and bear claw marks in a tree. He interacted with girls in the snow while we were able to enjoy an open meadow and put on the speed. If you have the chance add this tour to your trip, because we can't wait to come back! A special thank you to everyone that day who was working, because they took the time to make sure we were all comfortable with our gear and the equipment.

Awesome and very worthwhile experience. The snowmobiles were in tip top condition. Bella Ben lead us on a private tour thru the most beautiful San Juan Forest trails up to a spectacular 12000 ft. I’d not only recommend it, but plan on returning myself.

From the moment we arrived, everybody at Snowmobile Adventures did an excellent job making us feel welcome, excited and safe. The adventure was a blast and the guide took extra care to make sure everybody had a great time including our 10 and 12 year old grandsons.

The initial booking process was easy and completing all the paperwork online ahead of time was very convenient.

While in Durango my family and I decided to do a snowmobile tour with Snowmobile Adventures on Purgatory mountain. My 14-year-old son was reluctant after finding out he had to be a passenger since he wasn’t 16 and couldn’t drive on his own. Luckily it was a blast for us all! Our tour guide JJ was so fun and energetic we all felt like we lucked out with him as our guide. I highly recommend taking a tour, we went through trails and even got some free time in an open meadow where we could race each other and Just ride on our own for a bit. This was a fun event for the whole family!

My wife and I went on a 3 hour private tour with a young man named Pete. Pete was a very good guide. He quickly recognized our ability on the snowmobiles and worked hard to make sure we had a great time. We took the two hour group tour the Saturday before and JJ was our guide. Great guide as well - so good we chose to take the 3 hour private tour. These guys are very well trained - focused on safety - and worked extremely hard to make sure we had a great experience. I recommend this company for your next snowmobile adventure.

This was the first time we tried snowmobiling and we had a blast doing it. The company treated the customers well and did the right amount of briefing to get you up to speed operating the snowmobiles correctly. The course was challenging enough to make the ride experience a memorable one and brought us to high elevation parts of the area with breathtaking views. Our guide, JJ, was humorous and great at taking care his herd and explaining what to see in the surriunding path. Overall, we have a very enjoyable snowmobile experience.

We booked three double snowmobiles for a 3-hour tour with Alan as our guide. We are a repeat customer and feel the 3-hour tour is best as you are not rushed to get things in. We rode the trails at a moderate pace, stopped for pictures of the scenic views, rode hard in the meadows, drank water straight from a spring and best of all saw a baby bull moose on one of the trails! Alan was an excellent guide who was very knowledgeable of the surroundings and ensured we enjoyed the tour! Would definitely recommend Snowmobile Adventures and we will definitely go back!

Our tour guide was very attentive based on each rider's skill level. He was also quite knowledgeable about the trails and the lands around us and shared that information throughout the trip. The scenery was magical and the equipment was perfect! We can't wait to go again!
