This was our first ever trip white water rafting. We were not disappointed! From start to finish the crew that worked with us were friendly, helpful, and seemed glad we were there! Tanner was our guide and he was amazing! Gave clear commands, was super friendly, suggested eating places near where we were staying, all while he was navigating us down the river. Mild to Wild is amazing!!

Helpful tips:

Finding the put in location was easy but you need to save the directions while you have wifi. Mild to Wild told us this in advance and that’s a huge help since you will lose Internet before getting there.

Wet suits are required in the San Miguel through June and I’m glad we had them. The water was cold. Some in our group wore swim suits under the wet suit, some wore thin athletic shorts and tank tops. Either is fine.

Bring towels so you can dry off after.

Be prepared to tip your guide. They work very hard to ensure your safety and they are good at what they do! They deserve to be rewarded!

If your nervous, you have nothing to worry about!! We did a moderate Rafting course and it’s not hard at all! This is a great introduction into Rafting. It was so easy that we’re looking into a more difficult journey next time.

I took my two sons who are 15 and 10 on he 3/4 day Lower Animas rafting trip. We had never done anything like this before and we had a great time making memories. Ben, our guide, did a great job navigating the waters, sharing local info and keeping us safe.

So last Christmas instead of buying my adult children a bunch of junk they didn’t need, I decided to buy each one of them a ticket to a rafting trip for June of this year. Money well spent we had nine of us in our party, husbands wives and mother-in-law. What a wonderful way to get the family together and we spent time in Durango Colorado. Our guide “Chris” was wonderful, he kept us all safe, we got wet but not too wet and nobody fell out of the boat. I highly recommend this and the lunch was actually really good, they ordered it from a local bakery shop and it was very tasty. The only thing I forgot was my waterproof cover for my phone to take pictures.

We called a day before and was told no need to make a reservation for a couple of inflatable two-person kayaks and a few tubes. When we arrived today we paid for two two-person kayaks and three tubes. Upon loading up the kayaks and tubes, they realized they did not have enough equipment for us. They tried two kayaks that would not hold air. We attempted to get the gear serviceable, taking well over an hour. It’s disappointing to pay $300 and then not have the gear. Now we have to go through a process to get a refund. They will also tell you refunds are not allowed, hence the onerous process to get our money back. A simple solution that would have saved us time and money is for Mild to Wild to make sure they have the gear and it is serviceable before taking customers money. We float in south texas and never had this trouble with a river float company. Never going back.

Our guide for the Silverton jeep tour, Jerry McGeorge, was wonderful. He was very knowledgeable about the history and geology of the area, sharing interesting stories. He didn't rush us at various stops, allowing us time to enjoy the beautiful scenery.

15 of us did the 3/4 Day float trip on the Animus River in Durango. It was a blast! James, our stud River guide was quick with a joke and a grin, and had us functioning like an experienced crew within minutes navigating the River to hit the sweet spots and avoid trouble. I am definitely coming back with my family next June for even bigger water!

Through Mild to Wild, me and my two boys (11 and 9) did the 3/4 day down the Animas River. It was a terrific ride. The stretch of river was pretty much through Durango and, at then-current water levels, was perfect. The river was moving. The rapids were there, many Class II and one Class III (at the city whitewater park). Kids loved it. With the scenery it was hard to beat. Our guide, Vinnie, knew the river completely and was a great guide, knowing history of area as well as local flora and fauna.

My partner and I enjoyed each and every minute of our trip. We went on a four day Gates of Lodore trip in hopes of experiencing some white water excitement, relaxation, and beautiful scenery. We were fortunate to have all of those thing on our trip with the help of our guides Gunnar and Luke. They were excellent and exceptional at navigating the water and the rapids and made us feel safe the entire time. They were also excellent cooks and set up a great camp. We also really enjoyed their company and felt like we had gained two friendships by the end of the trip. Our entire experience with Mild to Wild was fantastic, from the ease of booking and customizing our trip, to the transportation to and from the river, and the execution of the entire trip itself. We very much hope to take another trip with this company and will recommend them to our friends and family.

Spent a full day in early June rafting the San Miguel, starting from the Caddis Flats Campground. Signup process was smooth and efficient, including a follow up call from the company to make sure we had correct sizing on wetsuits and to make sure waivers were signed electronically prior to the trip. Set-up and safety brief were thorough and professional. The river was fast and the trip involved paddling 90% of the time. Lunch was simple (assemble your own sandwich/chips/cookies) and water. Trip was beautiful. But the thing to know - the guides were exceptional. Particularly Hayden, Spencer, and Nate. It's' one thing to be friendly and amusing, but we got to see the guides in action as a boat flipped. The response of the guides, working as a team, to right the flipped boat, get the paddlers out of the water, to administer first aid, and redistribute the paddling groups to complete the last hour of the trip was impressive - calm, focused, and professional. Would highly recommend this group of guides for a trip close to Telluride.

We booked 2 tours - the 1/2 day jeep trip out of Moab with Joseph Wolfe which was a blast! Joseph was extremely knowledgeable of the geology and botany of the terrain. The hike through the creekbed on the Onion Trail was great. Highly recommend.

We moved on to Mesa Verde with Jared for a 1/2 day tour. We had a scheduling mixup (ours, not Mild to Wild) and they graciously accommodated us for the following day. Most tour operators would have said "bad luck" and kept the $$$ - not these guys; they made a gracious accommodation for the next day. We went to the park a day before our tour accepting we may repeat where we were going the next day. Wrong assumption on our part. Jared took us to places we had not seen. And his narrative on the history of the Ancient Pueblo was more than you'll ever get out of a brochure.
