We ended up visiting twice in our recent trip to Denver. First time we did Dorm of the Dead 2, and second night we did It's A Holodeck Mr Holmes. Andy was our game master both nights, and he was great about only giving us enough to help get over a brick wall. I was nervous about Dorm of the Dead as I'm not big on jump scares, but it wasn't bad (though I hear around Halloween it might be a little more "lively" lol). The rooms were challenging but not too hard for our teens to keep up. We had a great time and would visit again next time we're in Denver!

Kyra made our experience very fun. It was just myself and my husband as a fun activity I surprised him with for our anniversary. We did the Conspiracy Theory room, just the two of us. We made it out with a few minutes to spare! Fun and challenging room. The business itself was very clean and there was sanitizer everywhere. I appreciate them for the extra efforts made to keep a clean safe experience for us especially with the ever-changing challenges of keeping up with COVID restrictions. Can’t wait to come back.

We had a blast! The story was creative and unexpected. There were hidden panels and…well, I’d better not give it away. 😉 Ando was awesome! She was so helpful and made the storyline a lot of fun. My son (15) wanted to go back the next day and try another room. The price for a private room was excellent! Definitely recommend!!

It was so great! We did the hosted online game and they couldn't have been more wonderful to us! We had some tech problems and were so patient and waited for us, we really appreciated it. Kira the host was wonderful, stepping in at the right moments and was a great help. So much fun!

My family has done three remote escape rooms with Epic Escape Denver. Each has been more challenging than the one before!
Epic is trying to release a new game every week and we plan to play them all.
We connect from 4 different locations around the country and the process and game play has always been smooth.
Epic allows up to 90 minutes for each game, but we have always completed the game in under 50 minutes. Can you beat our times?

Please read, it will help you save your money...

This is my first 1 star/circle review, and I'm not sure that I will ever write another, but I left this place with such a bad feeling that I can't get rid of...it's been a week, I wrote this review and deleted it 4 times...it comes out the same every time...

I have attempted 4 escape rooms in 3 states and made a special trip (driving 6 hours, one way) just to visit this location and take on their hardest room...I must say that I left disappointed and I can't shake the feeling that I was let down by the company.

I feel that the bar was set much higher by other escape rooms that I have been to in CO, AZ and NM, as their rooms were immersive, and followed a strong central theme. The objective in those other rooms also lined up with the clues found in each room, and each helped progress the story line along. I cannot say the same for Epic Escape Game though...there was a lack of theme, a poorly decorated and cheap room experience, and a total lack of cohesiveness. I have come to expect much more from escape rooms and there are much better representations of this seen in CO, NM, and AZ.

After diligently searching for this location and planning our special trip to visit their location we were excited to attempt their hardest room (as we love a challenge); we were definitely disappointed in the following:

Upon initially walking into the room I was caught off guard by the cheap decorations (simple Halloween masks on the walls and Styrofoam mannequin heads with printed, paper eyeballs glued to them). The cheap decorations didn't stop there...I could go on for quite a while about the lack of theme and attention to detail, but I'll continue on with other parts of the room that need attention.

The premise is that you have died and that you need to put the story together and find a way back to the other side, before you are trapped in the spirit world forever. Unfortunately there is little to tie in the core theme...the cheap masks/heads on the walls, the puzzles that progress the game, and the clues discovered all lead to the next discovery but do not tie in together. They do not tell you how/why you died, and they seem to have been pieced together without a real reason behind them. There isn't a real story/theme to this room...just an idea of a theme that needs a lot of work!

This was the biggest challenge that we had to overcome! You would think that if there was one thing we could rely on working well to help give us a great experience it would be the staff...and if you thought that, like we did, then you would be tremendously let down!

The staff use a walkie-talkie system that is definitely behind the times. It would work well if they paid attention to you and your group while you went through the clues/puzzles in the room, and actually helped progress you through the room (which is their entire purpose)

---> You are given access to a walike-talkie that has a "game Master" on the other end (who is supposedly watching you on a camera system and can offer help when you ask for it)
--> You are given access to 3 clues/hints to help get you past challenges that arise in the room - pretty standard...

--> When asking our Game Master for a clue our 4 minute conversation goes as follows (omitting elements of the game that would give the experience away):

Players: Hello, Game Master (GM) we need a clue
GM: Hello...did you message me?
Players: Hello, Game Master. Yes, we did. We need a clue/hint
GM: Hello...What do you need?
Players: We need a clue!
GM: Oh, ok, Just a minute...(30 second pause)
GM: Ok, have you (completed task 1)?
Players: Yes, we have
GM: Oh, ok. Have you (completed task 2)?
Players: Yes we have
GM: Ok...hmmm...Have you (completed task 3)?
Players: Yes
GM: How many (of the game pieces do you have)?
Players: We have 4
GM: You need 5, you will find it in a few minutes.
---- End of communication, 5 minutes of discussion, 0% progression in the game ----

So, for those that haven't been to an escape room here's the problem with the previously mentioned conversation: Any delay in the process is time wasted that you cannot get back! If you took a team of 6 (which we did) you pay $180+ taxes and fees for the 60 minutes that you are in the room, and your job is to progress through the room and escape in 60 minutes or less. You come to rely on the staff to give accurate and precise clues/hints to help progress the game further and get your team past a certain challenge.

** Not only did the staff waste our time (which we paid for), but they didn't progress the game or help us in any way. This set us farther back in the "game" element as we now have less time to accomplish the same task. **

Later in the game we were give a clue to a complete different room...it had nothing to do with our room! We were told to disregard the clue and keep working on what we were doing already. Again, this wasted time.

Lastly, we were misled when given a clue. The Game Master told us to convert a number, when he should have been told to convert a name....completely ridiculous! We only did what you told us to do! We are at your mercy! There is no way we would know to do it any differently! You are the creator, designer, and story teller in this room...you should know how to help someone else paying to attempt to get through it!

(1) Walkie-Talkie system...takes way too long and is behind the times
(2) Poor decoration/theme. The idea is to make me believe I am in the story, that didn't happen here
(3) Staff inattentiveness! Sheesh, please tell me that we can rely on you if everything else fails...(again, this wasn't the case)
(4) Code system on the safes used in the room timeout after 3 unsuccessful attempts (on average you are handling 30+ sets of numbers in a room that can be interpreted in about 3-4 ways. That leaves 120+ different ways I can input a number based on the information in the room...please do not have a safe that times out after my 3rd attempt...)
(5) Dirty restrooms...please clean them
(6) Very dusty and dirty everywhere else, needs a deep cleaning

After visiting various other locations in the southwest I am forced to place Epic Escape Game and the bottom of the list and will not return. There are too many other locations that are doing things the right way to give attention to such a weak performance that the Epic Escape Game team puts on. My money and my time will go elsewhere, and I suggest that for anyone who reads this review that they do the same.

I did one of their rooms with a group of friends. We went straight for the hardest room (because we like challenges) and did not get out in time. Nonetheless it was fun and we all had a good time. This is a great activity for friends, family, or a team building event for work.

My 14 year old daughter and I needed some daddy/daughter bonding time. I had seen this as an idea for a group of friends and decided she may like as well?

As we walked into the older house, we did so with nervous anticipation. We were silent as we were walked to the attic for our escape game. We looked at one another as the doors closed like, "ok...now what"

Now what was GAME ON!!!! We had a bit of a slow start then off we went...clue after clue we laughed, we yelled, we were anxious trying to beat the clock! Some clues she got. Some I got. Without one another we would still be in that room. With seconds left we solved it!!

Being in the room was great. The conversation we had about the game and the puzzles and how much fun we had was amazing. We showed one another how amazing we were together. And, no longer silent but we did not shut up.

And we found something we love to do as we just finished our second room!!!

Great for older families. Friends. A night out with friends.

Highly recommend.

Epic Escape Games is great for a team builder activity. Our team did the Mustache Thief room. You receive a detailed briefing and after that, you enter the room without a starting point or reference, but you really have to use your senses to get going. They emphasize this, so pay close attention to the details in the briefing that are given. You have an hour to solve a mystery and boy, does that time fly! We had a great time and would definitely do it again. This room was a bit challenging, but certainly doable if you all work together. After our time was up, we found ourselves still wanting to remain in the room to finish. We really did have fun, although there was a sense of intensity that developed due to the pressures of the time and wanting to succeed at the challenge. Epic escape games would be good for friends, families, multiple couples date night and even team builders. If you have younger children, I would definitely do an easier room. I would highly recommend this company/activity. I can't wait to try another room.

Only 38% bust out of this room! We did it! See photo.
This was very fun. Quite difficult but we apparently had some really high IQs in our group. I would do it again in a heartbeat and it would be great if we could do it with 2 unrelated young couples we were lucky enough to group with.
