The district offers a first Friday event where the shops stay open late to shop and view the galleries. They also have food trucks and music to enjoy. A good visit for an evening to get out and see artwork and shop. It's small so not much effort needed to get around.

First Friday every month. The street wasnt closed for the event in May, tho I've read that it does happen...might be worth checking as sidewalks can get pretty crowded. But crowded is part of the fun. Some "galleries" seem no more than empty storefronts that allow artists to set up a stall and show what they have. Much of it... More

The Art District on Sante Fe is a fantastic section of Santa Fe that has been revitalized and caters to artists, art lovers, foodies and performing arts! First Fridays are fun and interesting with new shows, artists work and gallery openings with food, wine and other goodies. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE help support local artists by not just "appreciating" their art... More

You have to look for the schedule of events to really get the best time to go. I typically watch Westword. There are over 60 galleries and some great restaurants. The first Friday of every month they have an Art Walk that allows you to preview and look at the most galleries.

We like to visit at least once in the summer. There are so many unique places to look at. Even people watching is fun here.

The Art District on Santa Fe is my new favorite place in Denver. Spanning a number of blocks on Santa Fe, with 8th arguably the midpoint, the district is full of colorful, architecturally interesting buildings hosting a wide variety of artists working in many different media. Many galleries are also studios and it's possible to shop or browse while viewing... More

Here is a great way to see a lot of fun art and be entertained at the same time. The first Friday each month four blocks Santa Fe Drive, just south and west of downtown Denver, is closed to vehicular traffic and becomes an art fest. Dozens of art galleries are open and food trucks abound. It is a very... More

In nice weather (whatever that might mean to you), it's pleasant to browse some of the (very many) galleries in this district. As noted by previous reviewers, First Friday offers one opportunity - when many of the galleries are especially prepared for "serial browsers". We went one evening, when a neighbor was one of the participants in a show at... More

Whenever I'm in Denver I like to visit the artists on Santa Fe. Usually I time my visit around one of their "First Friday" events. You will encounter art of all types and artists at all levels as you tour through the galleries and spaces. From an old Italian gentleman creating oil cityscapes that sell for a few hundred bucks;... It's a fun thing to do on a Friday night. Walk thru some of the small galleries then stop and have a drink and appetizer nearby. Park once and walk everywhere.
