Although the park looks inviting and is boarded by the capital building and various museums, it's probably best to circumvent it and stay on the sidwalks. Denver has a homeless/transient/creep problem and Civic Center Park is a magnet. Granted, there are certain times during daylight where you can walk through it , but even then I never feel completely safe.... More

This park is beautiful but as lots of others say, there are so many homeless people there. I never felt threatened or uncomfortable but it does make you feel sad walking around there. Aside from that though, the buildings are amazing and lots of statues and monuments to look at. Worth a little walk around for definite.

We walked across from the state capitol to walk through this park. There were a lot of homeless but the park itself was beautiful. Great views of both city hall and state capitol as well as the mountains.

Denver is a very walking friendly city. The park is nice and close to 16th Mall and the Art Museum. At nighttime the surrounding builds are lit up. It's very pretty. I was there alone and felt very safe. Worth the short walk from most downtown hotels!

This is one uncomfortable park to go through. While largely harmless and will leave you alone in this area, I saw nothing but homeless person after homeless person at this park and surrounding areas. Probably >100 of them. The park also seemed to be under maintenance when I went - I didn't even pull out a camera as there was... More

We only go here when there is a festival, like Cinco De Mayo, Veterans Parade, Festival of Lights, or Taste of Colorado. Otherwise it's full of homeless people.

No matter the time of year, Civic Center Park is a must see. It is well kept with flowers in the summer and lots of events year round. Don't miss on your visit to Denver.

Broncos Super Bowl celebration parades, 4th of July fireworks and countless other events are centered around this park. Everyone knows this very central location, and it gets super busy. Even on days with no events, there are people milling about.

I visited this park as part of running the Rock N Roll Denver Half Marathon. I went the day before the race to check out the area, then enjoyed the park after finished the race Oct. 16. It really is a nice park. I'm sure it is used by a lot of venues and events. Nice that it is right... More
