Maybe your first rodeo, but not mine!
Jan 2020
Every January the National Western Stock Show takes place in Denver. It's a big rodeo event, cattle and livestock show and auction, art exhibit. It starts with a parade of equestrians, longhorn cattle driven through the streets, and all sorts of western frontier excitement. It's two weeks of fun for the cowboy and cowgirl in all of us. Go if you have the chance.

NATIONAL WESTERN STOCK SHOW JANUARY EVERY YEAR A MUST DO
Jan 2020
I try to make it to the Stock Show every January at least one day and for at least one special event. I made it two days this year and my company flew out from Indiana. The many vendors offer many choices of anything Western. From literally soup to nuts, western clothing to tack, blankets to barns and everything else you can imagine. But the reason to travel to Denver in January are the special extra ticketed shows including world class rodeo to my personal favorite, the draft horse and mule competitions which include 8 horse draft horse hitches with the most beautiful wagons and harness in addition to the gorgeous Percherons, Clydesdales other draft Breeds. The last event of the Draft Horse and Mule Show is the Heavy Weight Pulls which this year we watched two Belgians pull nearly 19,000 pounds! There are five days of Rodeos at least, 4 days of Draft Horse and Mule Pulls as well as Freestyle Reining and Grand Prix Jumping and many other really awesome events. This really is a unique entertainment experience. There is also all kinds of cattle, bison, even chicken judging You just cant miss if you like anything about the West. There is even a wonderful Western Art Exhibit. There is a posted internet schedule of events so you can plan ahead and purchase your tickets for special events.

We Come Every Year During National Western
Jan 2020 • Couples
We love coming to the National Western stock show. For two weeks in January we make visiting this event a top priority. With construction this year we recommend coming early on the weekends or ciming during the week. The vendors are top notch. The rodeo the best in the world. You must take the time. It is a world of fun for every age. Dress warm and bring your cowboy boots.

The place is huge. Downside is in the middle of the summer time it gets HOT. not too many places to cool off. have been here for multiple events and enjoyed them all. Typical venue food, a little over-priced, but not unexpected

28 years or so

Although I hate the rodeo and my husband and friends love it, they will still go sometimes because that’s their thing not mine!

We have been going off and on for the last at least 28 years most of those years we venture out just to see the animals and the gadgets. I have bought a vita mix, heaters, tools salsa maker and the list goes on and on. Look for the Mink oil products.

Love this farming adventure to see how a lot of people in the country live and grow up.

I love going there, I WOULD highly recommend going, look at the schedule ahead of time to see what they’re doing.

Stockshow
Jan 2019 • Couples
I’ve been going to National Western Stockshow for years. This years Dodge Invitational Reining Horse Competition was one of the best ever!!!
The quality of horses and entertainment is incredible. Very diverse this year which makes it even better.
Needed a few more buses this year for transportation to the lots.

Fun but busy. Went with friends as a group. Much better than going just by myself. Very pricy for things though

Good grief
Dec 2018 • Family
Vendors actually don't bother to cover up prices when they charge higher rates by putting the new prices on display cups. It's like buying food at a broncos game, but you're at some goofy expo or high school state final. Parking is $10 and a total and complete cluster to get in and out. Bathrooms have been improved, but the place is old and not pretty, to say the least.

Motorcycle Expo a Fun Couple O'Hours
Jan 2018 • Friends
I went to the motorcycle expo with a friend and got to see acres of vendors across the spectrum of motorcycle gear and motorcycles. The place was packed with vendors and patrons, alike. I was a bit disappointed there weren't more motorcycles for sale/on display. Gear vendors outweighed the motorcycles probably 15-1. Overall a fun experience.
