There are four floors of exhibits depicting the history of Colorado. We spent several hours looking at the exhibits and reading about Colorado. We parked in a pay parking lot about one and a half blocks away and there is an admission charge.

We visited here as one of the 3 options on our CIty Pass. This museum has everything and was really well thoughout. Lots of hands on exhibits - with sanitizer right next to these. Learned so much about the area and how it came to be and saw some wonderful artifacts. Spent at least 4 hours here!

We contacted this History Colorado as we are not from this State to see where we could park our car when visiting. We were told by Kevin they would validate our car parking at the ART GARAGE on Lincoln Street ( around the corner). Very nice. So we park the car at this location and when to see Kevin about validation. He then gave us a ticked to REDUCE the parking from $10 to $6. NOT AT ALL WHAT WAS PROMISED. We tried to explain to him that validation means free parking .....but all he would say is " I am sorry" ..... no concern that he offered something of value, and then did not come forward, to be honest, and make good on his offer. The museum is expensive to start, and then when you add parking, it is not a good decision to visit ... better off going to other venues that are more friendly. FYI: we did not stay, and chose to spend our time and dollars elsewhere.

Our elementary aged daughter missed two field trips to History Colorado due to Covid19 and has been asking to visit since. We purchased tickets online and, while the museum does have some neat interactive exhibits, it really fails to fully reflect the history of Colorado.

Glaringly obvious was the absence of any real history of the oil and gas industry which has had such an impact to our states past and present economy. Per the Denver Post in May 2020 "The state’s petroleum industry employs about 90,000 people, directly and indirectly, generates $13.5 billion in economic activity, and provides $1 billion in taxes to state and local governments, according to an analysis from the University of Colorado Boulder." Why this museum would not showcase this part of our past and present (other than a very small display) is incredibly disappointing.

I was staying right across the street and knocked out here and the nearby art museum on the same day. The history center is priced similarly to the art museum yet it is a much better value in that I spent over an hour and had to drag myself out begrudgingly due to other engagements. Every exhibit was interesting and it provided an outstanding overview on the past and present factors influencing Colorado's culture.

This is a must see attraction but you should give yourself at least an hour.

The museum wasn't at all crowded, allowing the visitor plenty of room to wander. A wide variety of exhibits range from John Denver's guitar to the Colorado State Constitution.

We stumbled upon this and were charmed. Good content, accessible -- I learned a lot about Colorado and it was a pleasure! Who knew an apron exhibit could be such a pleasure to explore? They did an outstanding job of being equitable without feeling preachy. Great work.

Had a great time. Some of the art pieces are done by local artists. We were lucky enough to go on a day the artist was there and we were able to contribute hand casts to an ongoing project.
There is so much to see. I highly recommend it.
