The canvas was his ally. The paint and the trowel were his weapons. And the Art World was his enemy. Discover an American Master at the Clyfford Still Museum, home to the world's most intact public collection of a major American artist. From October 14, 2016 to January 15, 2017, the Clyfford Still Museum will display more than 260 of Clyfford Still's works on paper in the Museum's largest exhibition to date. With very few exceptions, paintings will not be on view in the Museum during this time.

It's quite an experience to visit a museum with just one artist's work and to get such a sense of the range and interests of this artist. I highly recommend a visit!

I love to go to the museum - it is always a treat. The architecture is actually more interesting than the majority of the artworks. (Just my opinion)

Thoroughly enjoyed our visit to the Still Museum. The interpretation added new insight into the iconic artwork that defines Still's mature artwork with the jagged color fields. And there are plenty of large canvas with subtle variations on what was an almost single minded theme....More

A small museum focused on a single artist, Clyfford Still, who sold few of his paintings and worked and reworked them obsessively. The plus: his large, very abstract canvases are beautifully presented. The minus: his canvases are big, and the exhibition area (the upper storey)...More

We took relatives visiting from Michigan to see the museum - not into abstract expressionism or anything beyond the "norm". They were gob smacked! Just knowing the story behind Clyfford Still and how Denver was picked is a fascinating story in itself. This was our...More

The CSM, hidden behind the DAM was a nice change from the overpowering DAM. Walked into the CSM, and the architecture alone is art work in itself...then you get to see the painting and they were just as spectacular...

Fascinating look into the work of a great American modern artist. This museum takes the artists work from his earliest efforts to the pinnacle of his stature as one of the greats of American modern Art. The museum itself was designed to exclusively present the...More

Clyfford Still was a visionary artist with a singular style that he worked over and over with majestic results. This building is a gorgeous treasure in its own right.
