We were in town for 3 days on a extended RV trip & one of our interests is cars. This is an eclectic collection to include motorcycles, bikes, mascots & trains. We liked the fact that you could walk all around the vehicles but we're a bit disappointed in the signage. We appreciated that they gave a military (active &... More

Not what we expected. Must really like gold cars and history. Still interesting. Would not recommend for kids.

We visited the Forney Museum of Transportation with family of various ages and had a very good time. The museum is all indoors, which makes it great in any season. The collection is quite diverse, including locomotives (including a Big Boy, which my nephew loves!), cars, motorcycles, trucks, horse drawn carriages, and some aircraft. Some of the most impressive items... More

We had to take a friend to Denver International and decided to use the afternoon for site-seeing. We were so thrilled with this museum. Exhibits included every form of transportation - wagon, locomotive, bicycle, trolley, car, truck, bus, motorcycle, airplane, helicopter, and ultralight. Some automobiles are very unique from companies such as, Kissel, Hispano, Nyberg, Amphicar, and Messerschmitt. I don't... More

This is a huge place with a lot of different vehicles. It is great for families and it might just bring back a memory from your childhood as well..

Highly recommended for anyone into cars, bikes and trains. The variety is impressive and they have some truly remarkable pieces in their showroom. I wasn't expecting a whole lot when I got there, but they blew me away.

A weekend excursion to see a little bit of history found a great treasure. The Forney Museum holds a lot of nostalgic pieces to view and appreciate. Big Boy is an awesome example of craftsmanship of a passing era. Each item is well documented with usage and ownership. It's amazing to dream of the miles and places each piece has... More

I wouldn't have known about this place until someone mentioned it to me. For every kid who was ever fascinated with cars, trains and other forms of transportation this place is gorgeous. From the Big Boy locomotive (One of 8 on display in the world) to the 1750 horse carriage, every display is taken care of. Just beautiful.

Must do in Denver. A great collection of carriages, bicycles, motorcycles, cars, trucks, streetcars, locomotives and other transportation items. Go early as this collection is large and they also have model exhibits also. Friendly staff and a nice gift shop!

The Forney Museum is a Denver landmark. I first visited it when it was housed in the old Denver Tramway Building in the Platte River Valley. I wa concerned about the Museum finding a new home when it moved, but "no worries" it is in a great place now near the National Western Complex. My wife and I attended a... More
