- SydneySaint Louis, Missouri211 contributionsSo Much To DoUnion Station is an incredible place to check out more than once! The first time my friends and I were here, we walked through some of the shops. We also took fun touristy pictures out front with the beautiful sign. We came back a few times to eat at the various restaurants. We also did a free cycling class in front of Union Station one Saturday morning, and then walked through the Saturday Farmer's Market! There's always something going on or something to do - whether it is a rainy day activity or somewhere to be on a sunny Saturday morning.Visited July 2022Written March 9, 2023
- Ashley BMinden, Louisiana125 contributionsFun Day in DenverEasy to find. There is a parking garage right next to the station. Warning that it is a little expensive though. We were parked there for about 5 hours and it cost us $30. The inside of the station is very pretty. There are shops and restaurants inside. People were just hanging out there or waiting on their train. Enjoyed the time we were there.Visited April 2023Traveled on businessWritten March 31, 2023
- sc1009303 contributionsClassy Train Station with Bar, Restaurants, ShopsMy husband and I took the train from the airport to Union Station to walk to our hotel nearby. The station is beautiful, classy, clean and busy with travelers, diners, and shoppers. We got a glass of wine from the Terminal Bar and sat in the large lobby to people watch. There are several restaurants and quick spots to grab ice cream, sandwiches, salads, as well as a Wafels & Dinges Belgian waffle counter (they are delicious). If you have some free time, it's a great place to stop by...you'll find something you like there.Visited May 2023Written June 5, 2023
- Tammy WKerrville, Texas109 contributionsHistoric Union Station was prettyWe enjoyed seeing Union Station and catching a bite to eat from an inside vendor (sandwich shop). We ate our lunch in the lobby and enjoyed the architectural views. What we did not like about the station and area was that we did not feel especially safe. There were armed security guards in the area patrolling and that helped us feel at ease but I think the fact that it is a functioning train station attracts all different types of people.Visited June 2023Written July 2, 2023
- Char JIndianapolis, Indiana243 contributionsNice!Really nice eclectic area. Great places to eat, cute shops. Outdoor dining was so pleasant. The Amtrak train stops here including an airport train. Great deal- in fact fare is free to airport during august 2023! I recommend a visit to this nice area of Denver.Visited August 2023Traveled on businessWritten August 6, 2023

- emcee215Philadelphia, Pennsylvania198 contributionsGood spot to spend time on a layoverIf you live in a big city Union Station is almost like an average train station with the hustle and bustle of all walks of city life. It is convenient from the airport to get to downtown Denver and upon arrival the first thing you notice is how beautiful the building is. However the second things is the actual station full of homeless people. There are a lot of cops around to assist and keep people moving but it can be unnerving if you aren't used to this type of city life. The restaraunts are expensive but it is a trendy location so I wasn't surprised. I couldn't see myself hangng out here for a drink or dinner unless I was killing time or meeting someone from out of town who had a layover. Ride to/from the airport is about 40/45 minutes.Visited June 2023Written August 28, 2023
- ShortknocerThe Woodlands, Texas454 contributionsGreat HubCame in on the bus and walked right next door to catch the train to the airport. It was so nice to avoid having to use ride share to get to my airport area hotel. Fare was 10.50 and ticket at kiosk. The train was clean and quick.Visited September 2023Traveled soloWritten October 8, 2023
- TarHeelDurham, North Carolina1,108 contributionsDenver's Living RoomWe booked a tour with Rocky Mountaineer and our hotel ended up being in Union Station. Our guide from the train station to the hotel told us this place was in disrepair and was going to be torn down until some locals fought to save it. It's just a cool place, with restaurants, shops, the hotel, and oh yes, an actual train station. We read that this place is often referred to as Denver's living room, a great place to people watch. Our hotel stay included free coffee, free ice cream, and free drinks, so we patronized several of the establishments while taking advantage of our offers. We also walked around the area during the day and felt safe.Visited August 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten October 8, 2023
- Dianna P797 contributionsThe security guards need to be trained on how not to be rude.Union station is beautiful it's one of the best Union stations I've been in. I would have given it five stars but a boy that looked like he was 15 years old that was a security guard told me to get my bag off of the chair and when I asked him why he threatened to kick me out. He was like someone that would probably make a good nazi.Visited November 2023Traveled soloWritten November 3, 2023

No understanding how this could be the #1 indoor attraction in Denver. We paid $10 to park for 20 min and rode up in an elevator puddled with urine. Upon entry, the security guard told us we had to buy something in order to use the bathroom. Then we realized the amount of homeless people occupying the place and why there were puddles of pee in the elevator. Overall, this place has a sad/weird vibe and not sure why it would be classified as something other than a glorified train station. Definitely not a place to “visit” except if you’re taking a train. Yuck!

This building is essentially the heart of the city. It has so much to offer. It has restaurants, stores, hotel, and transportation. I would highly recommend taking a tour while in the city to learn about the history of the this building and much more.

Recently I stopped into the fabulous Union Station for a cocktail at the Terminus Bar. We were appalled at the number of homeless allowed to squat in the main area. It is too bad the city of Denver cannot curb this problem. Not only are many homeless in the city, we residents cannot enjoy the fruits of the city without marijuana, homeless and lack of city struture.

I hadn’t been to Union Station in more than 10 years when it was just a shabby station that had virtually no services. We went in today and observed the amazing transformation. Clean, hip, updated with shopping, food options and trendy bars plus the luxury Crawford hotel. Security appears on top of ensuring the large (and sometimes scary) homeless population dies not accost legitimate patrons.

Walk around rather than through. Consider getting off at the Ball Arena station so you can avoid union station, especially the bus station.
Parking situation is horrible, if you're going to consider taking the amtrak somewhere rather than driving, it's pretty killer to pay as much in parking as you would a cheap plane ticket. Not often Denver should follow the lead of Baltimore, but that's the case here sadly.
If you're taking the Bustang or Snowstang west definitely use the Federal Center instead.

2020-January.
The Denver Union Station is divided into 2 sections.
The 1st one has railroad tracks that heads out to the airport.
Further north, are tracks that heads south and west.
The station is filled with gift shops, quick bite restaurants, charging tables, and benches. The high vaulted ceiling looks cool too!
Women's bathroom had 9 stalls and clean.
The station is constantly monitored so no homeless people will squat anywhere inside it.

If well designed buildings with detailed craftsmanship tickle your fancy, be sure to have your best eyes available. With three gorgeous blue windows to reflect the Denver sky and the bronco orange in the lighting, Union station screams Denver. One might notice the lions head atop of the supports going down to the overhang. No area left untouched with precision. A timeless standstill to the foundation of the city.

Very pretty place but not the place for a family on Friday night. We saw a pick pocket in action and a bunch of drunks, one who threw a drink after a screaming and cussing match. Didn't feel very safe. I would recommend visiting during the day.

When the historic Denver Union Station was renovated, they planned it first as a transportation hub. So stores and restaurants reflect the needs of travelers, as well as the local culture. Well done! Food service is fast, but it’s better than fast food chains. The large bar also reminds you of the nightlife in the neighborhood close to the station. It’s not just the stopping point for the Amtrak train between Chicago and the San Francisco area, it’s also where you get the commuter rail to the airport, many local bus lines, and within walking distance of many Denver attractions. So it’s busy, and it serves its busy travelers well with services they’ll appreciate as they hurry to their final destinations.

Went late after all the shops and restaurants there were closed except for a bar in the front. Large open vaultuous room with seating for variety and surrounded by the various shops almost like a mall. Light rail system stops here so you have all different types of people coming through. Had drinks from the bar and sat and people watched at around 9 or 10. Drink from the bar up front was gross - had liquid smoke or something in it. But it was strong so we got some real laughs just sitting and watching.

Right in front of the train station or where ever you want. There is also a Whole Foods behind it which would be a good place to meet also.

when you arrive in Denver take the A train to downtown Denver... costs bout$10and cheaper than Uber it taxi.. when you reach downtown there are many restaurants and shops... also you are in one of the hubs where there are local light rails which go to suburbs and underneath train area are buses that take you to Boulder and other surrounding towns... but if you stay downtown go to the 16th mall and take free shuttle and explore the area the shuttle ends at another bus hub .. and those buses at the civic center go to Evergreen and surrounding towns .. in the middle of the downtown area there are more light rails and they take you to Littleton.. Parker and so on.. in the downtown area there is the theater district on 14th and Curtis you can catch a play.. or on 15th you can go to comedy show and close to Union stations lots of pubs with micro breweries... there’s a Federal Reserve Museum which is free but only opens on weekdays .. there’s more but this is just a sample Good Luck

Very easy from the airport. You can by a ticket at the airport and the train will take you to Union Station where you can get off to go downtown or grab another train to go to another area of Denver.
