We were traveling to Estes Park from Illinois and had time to stop in to see the Denver Aquarium. As we approached the parking attendant he asked if we had tickets because we had to purchase them online. We had not! There was no indication that tickets MUST be purchased in advance, and when we tried to do so, nothing was available. The site did show you could do so, but not that it was required. Very disappointing and a waste of drive time. As we headed home a week later we tried again, purchasing our tickets 15 minutes in advance as we pulled into the parking lot. . (It looked like they would expire if we had traffic or other issues causing a delay one hour after The designated admission time) unfortunately the walk through the aquarium only took a little over an hour and was not even worth the cost of admission for four adults in a city the size of Denver we were expecting so much more. Only If you have small children who had never been to an aquarium, and had a coupon, it would be worth it

The entrance fee for the aquarium exhibit is quite reasonable for the price (if you think about the maintenance, staff compensation, animals' meal and vitamins, etc.). My friends from Arizona and California went to visit us here in Colorado and we went here walk-in and we got lucky that there is still a spot left for the exhibit. I had fun touching the stingrays and I feel like they love communicating with humans as long as you respect them and I had fun watching the tiger playing his big ball. As for the health protocol, they do have hand sanitizers scattered in every corner and they are practicing the 6ft social distance and mandatory mask for the employees and guests. The only downside when we went there is that some of the exciting areas were closed that's why I am only giving it a 4-star rate. Overall, going here in Downtown Aquarium reminds me of my childhood and my school's fieldtrip. I would definitely love to comeback to try their Aquarium Restaurant! I heard its good so I will definitely give it a try soon. I also hope that when I come back, I will see the areas that were closed.

You can easily spend several hours looking at the animals exhibits and enjoying with your family. Appreciate them being open despite Covid and able to stagger entrance times and have plenty of room to social distance.

The fish for some reason all seem very very sad - it reminded me the the living sea exhibit in Epcot - couple of really cool spots in the aquarium - this pandemic has just taken the joy of small journeys like this one

The Downtown Aquarium is home to some very unique exhibits. I was not expecting to see a tiger as I was walking through but they do indeed have triplet tigers. They also have some great sting rays and sharks.
