Spent the last 3 hours of our US family holiday at the zoo, before flying home to the UK from DEN. Great zoo, with super animal attractions in well looked after enclosures. Parking was free and on-site, and the zoo is well set out -...More

We've been to a lot of zoos, and this zoo competes with the best of them. There were lots of animals to see spread out over a large area. Many parts of the zoo had shade so that we weren't constantly in the sun, for...More

One of the best zoos we visited yet. The animals were very interactive with us, they did not appear sedated like at other zoos. Easy to navigate. Kid friendly. Reasonable price. We recommend.

Unfortunately we went during a heat wave so a lot of the animals were sleeping / hiding in the shade (no idea where the polar bear was). Luckily, there were plenty of places to buy cold water and areas to cool down a bit in...More

Denver zoo was reasonably priced, clean, plenty of exhibits and in a very nice locale in City Park. One of the food stands was selling what appeared to be their own smoked meats. Also, they sell local beer.

I think they do have a policy that is tied to the city and county for delays but you would have to ask them.

I don't know if the day of week matters. I went on a Tuesday and was fairly busy with groups of day camp kids. It is better to go early in day as many animals were hiding out from the hot afternoon sun.
