Two of my girlfriends and I took the two day beginner fly fishing class this weekend. Because of a mix up, we thought we were signed up out of the Frisco office, but were actually supposed to be part of the Denver class. Trouts took care of us by providing us with our own instructor and guide, Sam Kinney. I have never had a better guide or instructor for any sports class, ever! He was super patient, very easy to understand, no question was a dumb question, and very encouraging. Even with bad casts Sam had something good to say. The best part? HE was more excited when we caught a fish than WE were!! And WE were pretty excited... He made sure everyone had the thrill of catching at least one fish, even to the point of being ready to wade into deep water to free my fish from a snare...luckily he didn't have to! He was professional, knew his stuff, positive, hardworking (very hard working!!), just an all-around awesome guy. I will be using him again this summer for a guided trip and my two friends also want to make this an annual girls' weekend-but only if we can have Sam as our guide.

I took the 2 day beginner course with Sam Kinney, and it was absolutely perfect! I went with my two friends, and we three ladies all learned so much about knots and bugs and casting! We loved putting our new knowledge to work with a full day on the water on day 2, and each of us caught fabulous rainbows. Sam was extremely patient and fun, and made us feel like fishing rock stars. I highly recommend this as a girls trip!

My son Jake and I spent the day fishing on the Abel River Ranch with Sam Wright and had an outstanding day. We caught rainbow and brown trout all day long including the largest trout Jake has ever caught. Sam was fun, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic with both planning and doing the trip. He even cooked a hot lunch! On my next Denver fishing trip I will definitely book with Trouts and ask for Sam.

Got the opportunity to meet my Dad in Colorado for a few days of fishing for Father’s Day weekend. We had the absolute pleasure of being guided by Courtney Despos with Trouts. Not only was she extremely knowledgable on ever section of the river and super professional, she was an absolute blast to hang out with! When you’re being guided you obviously want to catch fish, but when you’re paying for a guide you’re paying for the education of learning their craft and having a really good time! Needless to say she exceeded those expectations! If you want a guide that is extremely boring and simply tells you where to cast, don’t get her, but if you want a guide that will be patient with you and teach you proper technique to ensure you are successful on the river and provide some fun banter throughout the day, Courtney is your gal! We cannot wait to book her for another trip next year!

Just finished carp school and could not have asked for more. Rick and Barry are incredibly knowledgeable, talented, and patient guides who strive to put fish in the net, but more importantly leave you with the skills needed to fly solo after class. All 4 anglers brought multiple fish to hand chasing carp on the DSP.
