White water rafting fun

We knew we wanted to do white water rafting but had not white water rafted before so we had some questions. After researching a number of white water outfitters, we decided to go with AVA. It proved to be a great choice as they helped us pick a trip that suited us well. They emailed a no obligation quote and link to the reservation but we had to change it due to a schedule conflict. A quick call to AVA and we booked a new time. The 1/2 day Browns Canyon trip did not disappoint. Our guide, Shawn, was amazing. He had the 6 of us working as a team in no time and we navigated both the rapids and more technical parts of the river with relative ease. I highly recommend Browns Canyon. We were on the 8:30 am trip and the temp dipped to 43 degrees on our way to AVA. We were a bit nervous about that but the gear provided by AVA free of charge kelp us warm. In fact it was in the 60’s by the time we hit the river and I quickly she the splash jacket. Shawn said that we could handle a class IV trip and we will be scheduling that on our next adventure.

Awesome rafting / zip line with Hunter, Jim and Colleen

We had two awesome tours. Gold Rush 1/3 day with Hunter. Fun and easy ride perfect for our 12 year old who is a little skittish. But still fun enough for the older kids to get splashed around a bit. Hunter added some fun by spinning and stalling. We also did zip lining with Jim and Colleen. They were super attentive to safety and overall great guides, entertaining and fun. Note that these are *hand brake* zip lines. Not as fun as the zip lines where you can totally let go - you need to use your hands because of the hand brakes. But it adds some skills that you can use on future lines. Line #4 has auto brakes so you be totally free and fast on that one. Great experiences with AVA, would definitely use them again. Hunter, Jim and Colleen are great - find them for your rides.

Ziplines and Browns Canyon

We had such a great time with Sid and Campbell doing the zipline course. They were funny, patient, and definitely made you feel safe. We had a large group but they kept things moving without feeling rushed. We had Aldon (Taldon) for rafting. He was sooo knowledgeable about the area and such a happy person to be around. The scenery was beautiful and the class 3’s were super fun!

Rafting and Via Ferrata

I did the 1/2 day rating and via ferrata in Buena vista. I was there with 5 other friends and we had a blast! We started with white water rafting, drove up to Buena Vista for lunch and then came back fro via ferrata.

The whole day was thrilling, exciting and great memories! It was the whole groups first time rafting and doing any sort of ziplining activities and we had a blast! The guides made sure we felt safe and had fun.

AVA is easy to get to and is a pretty drive up! It was a quick drive from Breck and it was very scenic.

Cancel Limbo

At 4:45pm the night before our trip left, we were informed that our 9:30am Via Ferrara trip would be cancelled due to not meeting minimum requirements, I'm assuming it was 4 people because we were 3 (and we're later trying to be sold on buying a 4thhll ticket in order to meet requirements). We quickly made other plans in the evening to make up for the canceled trip. AVA called us in the morning just over an hour before the trip would have left, and tried to still convince us to go. We were unable to, because we had already made plans!

If they are going to cancel trips, that's fine. But to go back and forth without sufficient timing before hand was frustrating.

Great family fun with EmJ & Hunter

We did the Cliffside Ziplining with EmJ and Hunter and it was fantastic! Great location, beautiful scenery, and excellent guides. EmJ and Hunter were so personable, easy to be with, and fun. They really took care of my younger son (11 & 1/2) and made sure he was able to do everything the big kids and adults did. We didn’t have a lot of time on our trip to do big adventures and this fit the bill perfectly!

Amazing time on the mountain

That was amazing!! Went with college friends and we went rock climbing, zip lining and rafting. Our guides Max and Hannah were the best, super helpful and encouraging. A ton of fun surprises and obstacles and I felt very safe the entire time. 10/10 would recommend for any adventurous people. I was the most scared in my group but I still managed to have a great time. We all went at our own pace which I really appreciated. We took mini breaks throughout so I never felt overwhelmed. Definitely go with a big group that is the most fun!

First time family rafting

I originally bought tickets for the wrong date and they sent me an email the day before regarding a waiver and I realized it was the wrong date(about 2 months to early). I contacted them and they easily changed the date without hassle or questions. Much appreciated. Then the correct date came and it was a very easy check in and quick setup to the day. Went to put in and after a good but quick safety talk we were in the water. A quick paddling lesson from our guide(Steve) and we were off. Steve was a good dude and knowledgeable of the river and area. We absolutely loved it. The brown canyon sizzler was perfect for me, my wife a 10 year old and 17 year old. Challenging rapids but not crazy. I felt like Steve had us in good hands in case things went south. Any chance I get to go back to Colorado I will visit these guys.

AVA is a Class Act - Organized, Efficient and has all the Gear you will need to keep to comfortable. Aldon, our Rafting Guide, was knowledgeable, skilled and a great Leader. he taught an eager bunch the rafting basics and we had a Blast in the Rapids!

Jess and Xavier (ziplining guides) were AWESOME!!! Safety conscious without being rude. Light-hearted, but serious. Funny, but informative. They made the excursion SO much more fun.
Jack was our rafting guide and he was AWESOME, also. Great guide, very friendly, as saved my 235# butt and my daughter when we got tossed overboard. You can literally trust him with your life.
