This is really a great value for what you get. We got to see 5 different attractions for $7/person. I will agree with previous users, there is a lot of "stuff", especially in the main museum. There are 3 floors FILLED with stuff to look at, but not a lot of information that goes with them. Personally, those old mannequins... More

We visited this little museum after taking the train tour of the mines. If your in the area for that this is well worth the quick 15 or 20 minutes afterward. Lots of older mining relics and history. Its amazing how much this town was worth back in the day and the people that visited and lived there.

My husband and I took our two elementary school age grandsons here. All four os us enjoyed this museum. We had gone on the "Molly Kathleen" gold mine tour and this was another attraction close by.

The museum is several buildings but, the main building and store building are where most of the attraction is. It was interesting to see the collections and history.

We have visited Cripple Creek before, before the hotels and casinos, but we never spent more than one day, which isn't enough time to take in all of the interesting historic sites and museums in Cripple Creek and nearby Victor. So this time we planned to stay for three days and we made sure we had enough time to see... More

Most of the reviews are true and honest when they say this museum has A LOT of things. Some people probably love that, but I found it unorganized and hard to see and understand things. There was also a lot of things that didn't have any descriptions on them. So you just stood there looking at lots of "stuff." Many... More

we only had 45 minutes 'til close -- so we really had to hurry! There was a TON of info and it was a great museum! Staff was friendly and willing to share knowledge if you had the desire to learn! Not only can you find out history of gold mining and mining in general, but there is a lot... More

It is very pricey for what you see. Old Victorian, homesteads out back and another house. Cute things. They have several pictures or items but they don't give any descriptions. Very cluttered.

Stopping at the museum is a must to understanding the rich lives of the hard working miners and their families. Some struck it rich and became millionaires. Many one of a kind pieces of history. And the staff is super helpful in helping visitors make the most of their visit.

The Cripple Creek District Museum has quite a collection of artifacts from Cripple Creek. Lots of mining history in the form of photos, tools, and rock samples. A plethora of history on many local characters too. Plus there's an assay office, gift shop, outdoor cabins, and a historic old mine headframe. In the summer months you can see the local... More
