Really great hike. You'll want a 4x4 vehicle to get to the trailhead unless you don't mind beating up your sedan. Moderate uphill walk from the Washington Gulch side which provides great views of wild flowers, surrounding peaks, and vistas.

The trail, the views, and the wildflowers are spectacular. You either have to do part of the trail and return back to your vehicle, or shuttle from the two ends. You really need at least an all wheel drive vehicle for the western end, but that is the end to see. Love to do this again.

A moderate trail with nothing technical to worry about. Great for families and kids - minimal exposure. Very beautiful views out over the valley back towards Crested Butte and wildflowers everywhere.

Have done this hike many times and will continue to do so. It's an easy 20 minute drive up Wash Gulch to the parking area adjacent to the trailhead. Paradise Divide stuns you on the left and once you clear the mining site and tree line the views of Wash Gulch and Mt CB begin and they never end -... More

We took the 403 from the Washington Gulch side. You pass by an old mining site to an beautiful open meadow with views down the valley. Very moderate hike to the view point -- great to take families. The view down the Gothic side is amazing. Steep hike down to Gothic trail head. The 403 is also the best route... More

On our second day in Crested Butte, we were hungry to see for more wildflowers, but we were a bit exhausted from our adventurous hike the day before. We read that this trail was abundant with wildflowers and we could hike the shorter distance to the outlook, so we decided to go for it. We did want to get a... More

It's hard to describe how gorgeous the wildflowers are on this trail, when you're here during the summer or fall. Be sure to bring a flower guide if you're interested in that sort of thing, and a camera for memories of the stunning views. The trail is also good for running.

Wow! Heard that so many times on this hike from young and old. We were 8 hikers in all and every single one of us just took in the views with our mouths wide open. The hike wasn't terribly difficult and the rewards were endless. The views down valley were spectacular and at the time of our hike, the wildflowers... More

This is one of my favorite mountain bike rides of all time! It does have a challenging desent, especially if you ride down to Gothic side (versus riding up from Gothic). However, I found it to be suitable for intermediate riders as long as you walk a few of the more techincal sections.

if you're into mountain biking, this is one of the big ones. It takes you up over from Washington Gulch into the East River valley just above Gothic. It's technical and often amongst elk and other wild animals.
