We are visiting Breckenridge in April so it is still snowy and we are not skiers so we were trying to find things to do with the family. We decided to try to tubing hill at Copper Mountain. We were not disappointed! You go online to reserve your time and you can tell how many are signed up for your session. I think the max number is 85 and the workers told us there were about 55 in our group. That was a nice number. There were a lot more in the session ahead of us and they definitely had longer wait lines. There is a people mover type magic carpet that takes you back up to the top of the hill so you don’t have to climb it yourself. There were 9 people in our family and we were all able to go down 6-7 times. You can go down by yourself or in large groups, you hold onto each other’s feet and the workers basically sling you down the hill. The staff was awesome, very friendly, and professional. I would definitely go again. I was a little nervous it wouldn’t be worth the money but we all felt it was worthwhile. The magic carpet goes a little slow but it allows you time to catch your breath before you get back to the top. I did ask when the best time to go is and was told when it is sunny and the snow has melted enough that a little ice forms. He said fresh powder isn’t as fun.

I have not been to many Ski resorts but of the few that I have visited Copper Mountain would rank up there with the best. Copper Mountain is comparable to Park City and Steamboat of which I have visited before. What Copper Mountain has to offer is the closeness and proximity of the resort lifts, restaurant, and shops right next to or below your residence. The transportation around the resort was great, never waited longer than 5 mins for a bus. The food at the resort was great also and there are plenty of choices for restaurants. The ski school was amazing. We did private lessons - Our ski school instructor was awsome - Shout out to Bobby for taking care of us. I had a bit of skill from previous excursions, however my daughter, niece, and grandson had no previous ski experience and were coming down the mountain by the end of the lesson. If you have a family of 5 or so folks interested in skiing the private lessons are worth it and I can't speak for all instructors but I would highly recommend Bobby for lessons.
The accomdations were great, we had a 4 bedroom condo which overlooked the lifts. We were able to watch the Christmas parade from our balcony with the hot chocolate in hand. The rooms were well appointed. One other item I appreciated about the resort is that it is in close proximity to some decent stores that allowed us to go out and find some pieces to put a great Christmas meal together.
The whole family enjoyed the stay and play.

I took my young adult children to Frisco/Dillon area for spring break. Let me say that we are not skiers! Copper Mountain was fantastic! There was an option to buy lift tickets for just the bunny slopes ($20), which was perfect for us and it saved us a ton of money. While my kids were skiing, I enjoyed local brews and shopped at the gift shops.

I highly recommend the snow tubing activity which was $54 per person for 1 hour. We had a blast!

We parked in the Chapel Lot parking lot. It was the closest to the entrance and just a few minutes walk. Any lot would be okay, however, because of the awesome shuttle bus service.

We will definitely be back!

The mountain is really fun, groomers are excellent. I would recommend NOT booking lodging through the Copper website as they put us in unit #401 in Passage Pt. with a very worn out/unusable queen sleeper sofa and the 1 bedroom King bed was also well past time to replace as it had divets were the 2 people sleep. We were counting on the sleeper sofa, but as soon as we pulled it out it was obvious how bad of condition the bed was in. With 2 people on the queen sofa pull out couch they ended up sleeping on top of each other which doesn't work for obvious reasons. This becomes a really big problem when you are staying for 7 nights. Unit #401 in Passage pt is also right next to the highway, so you hear high speed trucker traffic during sleeping hours. Make sure you unit is on the mountain side of the building to buffer the road noise. I'm a light sleeper so it was very challenging to sleep between the bed and the road noise. It is hard to enjoy the mountain to the full potential if your group can't sleep well. Also, the parks were not very safe when we were there. Ski patrol was stationed at all the slow zone signs, but nobody was monitoring the parks to make sure athletes were waiting to make sure jump landing zones were clear before hitting the features. I was very concerned someone was going to land on one of my boys and they would end up with a broken bone, or concussion. It may sound like we didn't have fun, but we definitely did. I just recommend beware of the sleeping accommodations when you book, and consider renting through VRBO instead.

Poor communications marked my day ski trip to Copper Mountain today. Try to find information on the website about parking… Like me you’ll end up sitting at a parking booth being directed by the attendant to a website where one can “reserve” a parking space. You can’t just pay the attendant… Then try to find the lift opening time for a Sunday. After you hike up to the lift with your gear on and proceed to the line for an expected opening at 8:30 in 21 degree weather… you’ll wait 40 minutes like I did because “First Tracks” folks are the only ones allowed on the lift until 9:00 - this is a new “offering” you get to pay extra to ski at 8:30 … the previous weekend opening time. The lift attendants will tell you they are only doing their job… and have no control of the situation. The conditions were hard pack and icy … not sure if the groomers know how to take care of man made snow… Avoid Copper Mountain - protest “First Tracks” money grab!

Avoid their equipment rental. It is several times more expensive than renting outside. The main benefit of renting at the resort would be that you don't need to carry them in your car if you ski multi days. But that would require you to check in gears, which cost another $25 -- Almost as much as the rental cost if you rent at a store in Frisco CO ($26).

Once out of the door, they will not offer any refund if you change your mind. We ended up over paid almost $200 for 2 day's ski for 2 people.

Copper opened on Monday, November 30 this year. Usually it opens on the second Friday of November. This allowed more time for new snow to accumulate and man made snow to be blown. It did open with more terrain and more lifts open but the conditions were still icy and the mix of skiers was still the same - scary.

Copper initiated a parking reservation system where you must make reservations to park, even in the free lots. This precludes our ability to decide to go skiing when we wake up and see new snow. It also causes a backup getting into the parking lots as the attendants mus check your reservation on your phone and there are people that do not know about the requirements and don't have reservations.

The restaurants are closed and there are no places to go to rest or warm up. They have even taken the seating out of the hallways. You must wear a mask at all times. The water fountains are shut off but you can fill a water bottle.

Simply put: Don't visit during the summer. Winter activities are decent.
They do a bike haul during the summer and don't post trail closings before they sell you a ticket. If you get up there and all the decent trails are closed, too bad. If you get up there and all the trails are rained out for the day, too bad. They won't refund you no matter the experience. Even if you only get one ride up the lift before they shut everything down, nope, you're out of luck. No rain check, no reimbursement, no nothing.
The staff at the ticket counter is as indifferent as can be.

We loved Copper mountain. We used our ikon pass which helped minimize costs despite it being an investment in itself. The pass gives you dining discounts and some retail discounts. We benefitted from a discount on our 1 bedroom at copper springs too. Definitely worth staying on the mountain. The ease of accessing the lifts and returning to our room for lunch or to take a break or link back up with the kids made it well worth it. The shuttle system between villages is a huge plus. The staff and services from lift operators to rentals was equally as awesome. Copper Mountain has a family feel with a huge variety of terrain and lifts. The ski and safety patrol are very present and we were impressed with how they utilized the safety patrol to control skiers and boarders speeds. We stayed five days but wish we could have done one full week. It truly took us two full days to acclimate to the altitude which both my sons and I were sensitive too. Perhaps if we stayed overnight off mountain we would have slept better but by the third night we all felt fine. The skiing was amazing and none like we have ever experienced coming from the northeast. This was an amazing experience and well worth the huge expense. We would not have considered it without the cost savings of our ikon pass.

My son and I got two days of skiing in during his spring break. The conditions were excellent. It’s a large ski area, with lots of varied terrain for all skill levels. Our first lift each day had less than a 5-minute wait, and all lifts the rest of the day had no lines. The skiing, the terrain, and the views were all outstanding. Most activity is at the Center Village, but there are some good food options at the East and West Villages.
PARKING TIP - Parking at each of the villages is expensive (up to $40/day). Free parking is available at the Alpine and Far East lots, with a free shuttle to each village. The shuttles run often (we never waited more than 5 minutes) and it’s a short ride, but it is crowded and standing room only. If you park in the Alpine lot, in the morning take the black route bus to the East Village. It’s a shorter ride, and it’s less crowded than Center Village.
