Come in with a group of friends this past weekend - we had a blast! We picked the "Black Site" room. It involved a lot of numbers and puzzles but it was a lot of fun. We made it out in good timing. Would love to come back and try another room.

This place was amazing!! The game master was so nice and even allowed us to have a little extra time on the Blacksite Room! Then she helped us have a discounted rate for my mom's bday for us to do the Markov Room. Such an amazing and family friendly experience!

My husband and I chose the hangover room to escape from. We didn't make it out before the timer went off, but we had fun. Pay attention to the details and try your luck with this one! We also completed Hel's Manor successfully in October, Escape the Place has yet to disappoint!

We had a wonderfully entertaining experience. Give your brain a workout. We were locked in a room and handcuffed to a table.

I'm a fan of puzzles and had to find out. Could I beat the puzzles? Were they clever and crafty or just lame retreads of all those puzzles I've solved (or at least attempted) over the years?
I'm pleased to report the puzzles are different and fun. Of course, I can't tell you what they are, that'd spoil the fun. The room and its challenges are quite
well calibrated, at least for the group I was with.
Escape-the-Place is fairly easy to find, just slightly west and north of Subway on Garden of the Gods Road. Ample parking on weekends; can't speak for weekdays. The facility is on second floor (and the site's information suggests no wheelchair access is currently available), but the climb was no worse than any other set of stairs.
The staff is friendly, helpful, and highly available. We enjoyed a well-presented briefing that really did pretty much set the stage for our adventure, complete with scenario, rules, and even some veiled hints as to how to proceed.
The 'place' from which one escapes is, as advertised, a room. What isn't advertised is that your guide/supervisor is watching over you 100% of the time and can call you (or you can call him/her) on the motel-like telephone in the room. This reduces anxiety of getting stuck forever (and, of course, reassures those with rare phobias about locked rooms).
Our experience was not quite frantic, but quite busy for the entire hour. Each member of our group of four had tasks, searches, puzzles, and other busy-ness almost non-stop. The puzzles and goals were challenging but not impossible; solving one usually led to a rewarding result (and often to another step in escaping).
Our group failed to escape. One puzzle kept us away from this goal. Obviously, when you go against a puzzlemaster, you must be willing to keep a happy smile even if he/she wins. Everyone had a great time and, I think, would try the other room if the opportunity presented itself.
While $28 for an hour (really a bit more than that) seemed high to me, coupons brought the price down to my threshold of frugality.

I've done numerous escape rooms and so while visiting family in the Springs, we all decided to give it a shot (this was the first time for several). We choose "Timebomb" as our room and I really wished we had chosen something else. There weren't a whole lot of traditional escape room elements here, and the entire activity was more geared toward a large corporate team building exercise. The set up was cool, but it's just your group doing LOTS of math.

We easily booked online about 8 hours prior. The website is organized really well and has ratings of each room. It was easy to find and the building looks new on the inside. We arrived early. The facilitators are "on call" and arrived shortly after us. We started on time and went to a briefing room where we were told the rules and scenario. It was just our group of 5. We then went to the room (Hangover). The room was clean except for the bedding (very dirty). There was a picture falling off the wall and another that was missing (not part of the game). We were given an hour to figure out all of the clues. One of the keys "accidentally" opened the wrong lock...so were told to ignore that until we found the correct key. We didn't end up solving it...would have been more fun if were given more time. One of the clues was really difficult due to the fact that it wasn't easily legible and had a lot of "background" markings. The facilitator was really nice and debriefed us afterward. The price after the "half price" discount was decent ($14). No other discounts can be applied (military) when using the half price discount. Overall we had fun and will consider doing it again.

Hi Cheryl - we appreciate you taking the time to leave a review. We're very proud of our new facility and believe that it's in a good part of town, with lots of traffic and reputable businesses. However, we do take every review seriously and the owners will address the other issues that you raised. We're glad you had fun and hope you will return soon to try another room!

We were very excited and they didnt charge us for the toddlers that came but she charged us full price for the 8, 11, and 12 year olds that should have been less. Then my father in law asked if they did a military discount and she told him NO even though it says online that they do. It wasnt very much fun (we have been to many and love escape rooms which is why we took the fam) a few of the boxes didnt even work and one they didnt have the key for so we couldn't have finished it even if we wanted to. It was very frustrating. We spent almost $200 for our family to do this and we will not be back. Head to a different escape room and have fun!!!

Hi Brenda - As relatively new owners of Escape the Place, we were a little surprised at what happened to you for the Timebomb room pricing. After some investigation, it appears that the booking system handles the Timebomb escape room differently than the other escape rooms. Specifically, because Timebomb was set up to have a reduced price based on a higher number of participants, it was not designed to have other discounts. Unfortunately, we have not made that very clear on our website and it doesn’t make particularly good sense. As a result, we are discounting your escape experience by 50% and will return $96 to the card that you used for purchase. We would appreciate you reconsidering your recent review but regardless, we have refunded the amount above. Please let us know if it does not appear on your side within three business days. Have a great day!

Typically older than 13 are capable of solving the puzzles on their own. But, we have had multiple children 12 and under come in with adults and have a great time!
