Cheyenne Mountain Zoo is America's ONLY mountain zoo. Large alpine habitats are home to over 950 different animals and approximately 180 species. All of your favorites are here - monkeys, hippos, tigers, elephants and bears (oh my!). Hand-feed their large reticulated giraffe herd, and experience animals up-close, like never before.

We stopped at this zoo during our trip to Colorado. We were amazed by the setting and the elevation changes. The views of the city and surrounding area were worth the price of admission. We were able to feed and pet giraffes. The grizzly enclosure was amazing as they swam and played to the crowd. There is a ski lift... More

More 'hands on' than a lot oz zoos, feeding the giraffes is a fun thing to do and little ones can pet chickens and goats. The zoo sits on the mountainside but it is easy to walk, although there are golf buggies and a cable car to take you to the top. Go early in the morning when the animals... More

A zoo built into a mountain? A ski lift to give you an ariel view? And elevator to take you to the different levels? Yes yes and yes!! This is the coolest zoo archetect plan I've ever encountered ! This zoo is fun and drink lots the altitude there requires it! Have fun

the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo is by far, the beat zoo I have ever been to and I have been to a lot of zoos. It is beautiful and the animals all look really healthy, I just love it.

This zoo is so awesome! It's well taken care of and the staff is so friendly. You can feed giraffes which was an awesome experience. And if you get to the lions for the 1045 show its so worth it! The only thing I don't like is you pay for the souvenir cup for free refills but you can only... More

Although the admission prices were a bit steep for a family of four, the number of opportunities to get up close and personal with animals and animal trainers, as well as to feed a giraffe/elephant/rhino for only $5 each is a priceless opportunity. If you live in the area, pack a lunch to save some $$$.

Love the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo - we visit every year. The animal enclosures are well maintained and the zoo itself is beautiful - it's lush, green and on the mountain. Be prepared to walk up some relatively steep hills and to search for shade in the heat of the summer. Their main eatery is very good for a zoo and... More

This really has nothing too special, but you can feed an elephant and giraffe. It takes a few hours to walk around the entire zoo. They offer golf cart rides up the hill and has a small ski lift style transport up the mountain to a little play area for kids (it was closed). They did offer a varity of... More
