Coin slots

This place is a lot of fun. They still have several machines that accept real coins.

Stopped into Bonanza after walking around Central City a bit looking for some table games. We were directed upstairs and there was just 1 table with a dealer at it. The table open was offering $3 Double Deck BlackJack. I have played blackjack before but never this version of the game. With this version your cards are dealt face down.... More

The old-timey atmosphere is probably all this has going for it. Stop in, and take a look around, but not much else to see here. There are some table games upstairs, but not much fun happening on Wednesday afternoon. Table games are not a seven-day thing here, so be aware if you want to go for that reason. Not a... More

We were passing through town on the way to Idaho Springs, when we called in for a drink. To be fair our visit was in the early afternoon so may not be representative of the evening atmosphere. This place was sad, full of lonely people who appeared unable to interact with anything other than the slot machine in front of... More

Went to play blackjack - tables closed on Mon & Tues! bummer, so we sat & played 21 on the machines at the bar. Nice bartender, polite and engaged us in conversation - made a great bloody mary!

In "the richest square mile" in the U.S., based on the gold mining that occurred in the past, Central City has somehow maintained most of it's old american town look and feel. I visited several casinos in the city, (separate reviews) and the Famous Bonanza by far, had the ambience and feel of the old time casinos. It actually has... More

A historic building with fun old time characters. Calamity Jane works the tables upstairs, where you can also play darts and shoot pool. Beautiful decor and atmosphere. Good assortment of slot machines, great Window seats. Organized happy staff. I visit often.

This place is in Central City, CO which is a very small town in the mountains just west of Denver. My buddy took me up here for the first time in my life. I have been going to Colorado for the last 20 years and have never stopped here. It is a great area. There are a couple dozen casinos... More

I’ve been to this Casino once and don’t know why I haven’t gone back because I was only there for about 15 minutes and left about $80.00 ahead. I was there about nine months back. All the video poker machines and slots were still on the old coin system instead of the voucher system. When I received my players club... More

If you are a blackjack player, this is the place to go in Black Hawk/Central City. The casino is small and somewhat worn looking, but the upstairs backjack table has the best rules in Colorado. They have doulbe deck, $5.00 minimum with double after split. A couple of other casinos have double deck games but all have higher minimums.
