My wife and I scheduled a half day trip with AOA to explore the mesa by snowmobile. We had a great adventure! Neither of us have any experience and selected a tandem machine for our trip. We arrived at the office on the mesa, signed our paperwork, got geared up and were ready to go ahead of schedule. We got a good safety briefing and instructions how to operate our new Ski-Doo machine and we were off. Our guides started us off on smooth terrain and advanced us through the trip as we gained confidence. We did wide open trails, trails through trees, soft powder and even tried a few small jumps. Snacks and water were provided. We saw some beautiful places often with no other visitors than us. Arrived back at base safety, a bit tired and totally satisfied with our choice of touring with Altitude Outdoor Adventure.

My sister was visiting from Georgia and we decided to take a tour with Altitude on the beautiful Grand Mesa. We had a wonderful experience. The guides started out slow so we could get a handle on the machines. They eventually allowed us to explore in unobstructed areas and actually use the machine. The snow was amazing!!! We will definitely go next year. The guides were interesting, kind, knowledgeable and kept us SAFE.

I went on a solo ride with Mike on the last day of vacation. My husband and son wanted to ski, so I was hoping they would take me as a solo guest, and it turned out to be no problem. Mike's wife - Donna was friendly and informative when I called. I found their location with no problem and was greeted by Mike.
I had never been snowmobiling before so I was a little nervous. Mike started out at a very easy pace and frequently kept looking behind him to make sure I was good.
This was an amazing time! I loved every minute of it! The views were amazing!! Granted we had a perfect sunny clear day, which made the ride fantastic. Mike took many pics of the views and of me ( which they later downloaded on a USB drive. He also gave you some history and updates of the area as you go, which I appreciated. I look forward to going back so I can ice fish next time! Thank you Grand Mesa adventures for a memorable end to my vacation!

We are happy that you had a great time snowmobiling on Grand Mesa with us. It is always nice when the weather cooperates and you get a sunny day! Please come up and see us again. Maybe next time the family will decide that snowmobiling and ice fishing is more fun than skiiing! Vacation here in the summer to see Grand Mesa via one of our ATVs. It is fun to see how different it looks up here in the summer vs the winter. Thanks for using Grand Mesa Adventures. We hope to see you again. Donna

I put a deposit on a pontoon boat a month ago. After driving around the mesa on Monday we found no lakes full enough to launch a boat. When we went to cancel our reservation 22 hours in advance I was told no boat ramp was needed so no refund. I don't know about most people but my 100 lb. wife and I cannot pick up and hand land a 12 ft by 6 ft pontoon boat w/decking, seats, batteries and a motor. I think requiring 24 hour notice to cancel and not honoring a 22 hour notice is splitting hairs for what should be a service industry. It's not our fault the lakes are too low. A courtesy email informing customers of low water would have been great customer service. Instead we got no customer service and lost our deposit. No one has returned my phone call to discuss the deposit. I will definately not go here again.

Donna and Mike are incredible guides for snow mobility through this magical pristine landscape with unspoiled beauty, The snowmobiles were new and the safety equipment was provided for no additional cost. They are very familiar with the territory and took us through some amazing areas. The entire experience was captured for us by the company and we can watch some video clips and look at pictures. THIS is a must if traveling to Colorado and a day trip away from skiing.

We were exploring the area before dropping our daughter off at college and decided to ride ATVs. There are a lot of options for ATVing in the cities surrounding Colorado Mesa. We chose this company because the reviews were great and we like the idea of driving ATVs through the mountains rather than dirt (in the desert). We wanted to go on a guided tour with Donna but she was unavailable the only day we could go. She took a long time writing us out detailed directions of her recommended route. The views were spectacular. The wildflowers were in bloom. We passed pristine lakes and saw some deer. We rode through the aspen trees. I would definitely recommend this company. The owner and staff were friendly. The equipment was brand new.

I’ve used RTV’s around the farm for work, but never for fun on mountain terrain. The guided tour Donna offered was perfect for us! She did a fantastic job of guiding us through beautiful aspen forests as well as up and down Rocky Mountain paths. I would recommend the trip to any adult. Kids might not enjoy it as much, as driving is so much more fun than being a passenger.
Don’t do it without a guide though!!
Donna gave us frequent breaks and used those opportunities to talk to us about the history and geography of the Grand Mesa area. Since we are not from Colorado, this made the day even more enjoyable and gave us a deep appreciation for the beautiful surroundings!
Good gear, great guide, excellent time! Next time I’m there we’ll go again and will try to plan for the winter season so we can do this with Donna on snowmobiles!

Although we did not take any guided tours from Grand Mesa Adventures we did visit their gift shop on three separate occasions. We camped up on the Mesa for one week this summer and happened upon the gift shop when we ate at the Alexander Lake Lodge Restaurant. The gift shop has so many unique items and also some necessities in case you forget to pack something. We purchased some souvenirs such as T-shirts and lounge pants. They have a great variety of items with the "Grand Mesa" imprinted on them. What also brought our attention to this shop was the handmade flies for fishing that the owner ties himself inside the store. He can direct you to what type of fly to fish with depending on what lake you are going to on the Mesa and he seems to know what type of fish bite on which flies. They are all very nicely made and reasonably priced. He really seemed to know the history of the Grand Mesa as he has been in the area for many years. The postcards they sold were also actual photos taken by the owner of the surrounding areas. This place had nice little souvenirs for everyone!

Thank you for the kind words. We try to have a little bit of everything in our store. Thank you for being a repeat customer while camping on Grand Mesa. Mike does love to tie flies and talk about fishing Grand Mesa with anyone willing to watch and listen! Come and see us again!

Well fist off we would like to say thank you to Grand Mesa Adventures. My wife and i had a great time on our tour. Not only did the tour provide unbelievable breathtaking views, but it was so refreshing to enjoy a morning filled with conversation and tons of great information about the history and geographical facts about the area. on our tour we saw water falls, mule deer, and a wild brown bear! she was massive! i must also add that the price was unbeatable. My wife and i agree that the best part of the trip was getting to talk and know Mike and Donna (the owners/ tour guides). These are wonderful people who care about their community, and providing people with an experience that is unforgettable. we will definitely be coming back with more friends and family! hopefully for the winter snow mobile and ice fishing tour. Thank you again!

Thank you for coming up to spend a part of your honeymoon ATVing on Grand Mesa with us. It was a pleasure to meet you and I wish you a wonderful life together. It isn't everyday we see a big bear, a big buck and a doe on our tour, so it was an extra special day! We will have fun when you come back to go snowmobiling with us some winter. Safe travels home. Donna

Hi! Do you offer tours on side by sides? A family member is recovering from a shoulder injury so I think that would be more comfortable for her. We are looking at going Sept. 12. Thanks!!
