If you visit Canon City to go the Royal Gorge, your trip is not complete without viewing the fantastic sights of the area from the air. I decided to take a quick tour on the spur of the moment after visiting the bridge and I was not disappointed. The rates were very reasonable, starting at $54 a person for a minimum of two people and going up to a few hundred dollars per person for a longer tour. I was on a solo trip, so I must note that if you go alone then you will be charged for two people instead of just one, to cover the costs for fuel, etc.
I took the shortest tour at $54 and it cost me $108, but make no mistake, I had no regrets! The views were incredible and it was exhilarating to fly up and around the entire Royal Gorge in a million dollar helicopter! The pilot was incredibly knowledgeable and I learned quite a bit about the helicopter, how it flies, and the area in a roughly 8 minute flight. The staff was prompt, kind, and courteous and the entire experience from check in to departure was top notch service.
I have been on several helicopter tours over the years, and this one was by far the best, not just for the views, but the knowledge and friendliness of the staff and pilot. If you visit the area, just splurge and take in the breathtaking sights from up above. You will not be disappointed!!!

Our group of four took a custom 30 minute trip—to Red Canyon Park (two loops around our house nearby), up Shelf Road to the Cripple Creek & Victor Gold Mine (two loops around it), down Phantom Canyon cutting across to Red Canyon, around the Royal Gorge Bridge, and back to the helipad. Our pilot, Eli, was both smooth on the controls and a very informative in-flight narrator. We were all very impressed and extremely happy with the price, the overall flight, and how we were treated. We even received our in-flight video for free because I'm a veteran! We highly recommend taking a flight with Royal Gorge Helitours. You won't be disappointed.

My sister and took the royal gorge tour, we flew over the canyon we got to see things from a birds eye!!! We even got to see some wildlife. The pilot was super friendly, he made laugh, he made us feel safe as this was my first time in a helicopter, he even taught me something about the difference between a gorge and a canyon. I would and I will do this flight again and would recommend this to anyone who seeks a little thrill in their lives!

My son, My bf and myself took a sunset tour (last flight of the night) and spent almost an hour seeing the beautiful landscape and animals. My son got to sit up front with the pilot and he answered ALL his 1.5 million questions and was so great at pointing out the things to look at and explaining what various things were (like the mine). I've been on a few helicopter rides but this was by far the best. I URGE you to add this to your MUST DO list if you visit Colorado!

As a professional photographer, I fly frequently with Royal Gorge Helitours. The pilots are experts as positioning the helicopter for the best shots. The staff is very helpful in scheduling flights to meet my requirements for weather conditions and time of day.

My kids experienced the Royal Gorge Bridge in a new way... from above! The memory that was made will last a lifetime. The pilot was amazing, explained what he was doing, made us feel safe, and very professional! If you are on the fence about this helicopter ride, I'd say "Go for it!" It doesn't disappoint!

Great flight and very knowledgeable of the area. The pilot begins talking about the helicopter and the safety rules. Once inside the helicopter you buckle up with headphones on. The pilots continues talking about what he is doing to fly. Once in the air you are going around 100 mph but you can't tell. The ride over the Royal Gorge is better than on the ground. I would go again.

We seen the the helicopter going around the gorge bridge and thought it would be fun. So after our walk around the bridge, we left the park and just down the street was the helitours. We walked right up and they had tour's available very soon. About $54. a person for a 5 min trip. The ride was smooth and the pilot was very informative during the ride. A great ride to top off the day. Thank you.

Time in air was shorter than paid for. Also walk in customer paid $54 to ride with us and we paid almost $300 in advance for our 2 tickets. Felt sort of jippped when the walk up paid so much less for the same ride.
