The trail is wide and flat. The first 150 or so yards are a gradual incline. Wheelchair accessible. The next mile or so is level. The three tunnels are within the first half mile. The first two tunnels are about thirty feet long each and...More

Tunnel Drive is a really neat hike. You have to go up an incline to get to the actual path but once you're up there the ground is pretty flat. There are three main tunnels towards the beginning of the trail that are unique and...More

THis is an excellent, easy hike overlooking the Arkansas River. You will not be disappointed. BUT bring water, there is very little shade.

This is a great small hike to do to see the river from up high and to get to walk through several tunnels in the rock. Beyond the steep uphill for 2 slopes, it is flat. The reviews scared me for us to do in...More

I’ll start by saying if you have young kids I would only go a mile out and turn around and come back. The view doesn’t really change and it can get very hot and long for kids ( 2 miles and dead ends). In the...More

We wanted to do a quick hike after a day of rafting. We chose this trail and it was really pretty. It went along the river and railroad track. We only saw two people on our way out. Very peaceful walk.

We had a blast hiking this trail. We did take some amazing photos. I would recommend it to anyone who visits Canon City.

The first part is uphill and paved. It then levels off and goes through three tunnels which was a lot of fun for our granddaughters. The trail then follows the river above the train tracks. You will see the Royal Gorge train as it heads...More

We really enjoyed this short hike right out of Canon City. It was not super strenuous, and you get some very nice scenery for not having to put in too much effort. We hiked just past the tunnels, enjoyed taking some photos, and relaxed on...More

When traveling through to Mesa Verde National Park this tunnel appears with little warning. To imagine the workers blasting and smoothing the tunnel through the mountain of rock to allow two lanes of traffic to flow with the height tall enough for commerical vehicles is...More

We must be slow hikers but it took us about 3 hours to go to the end and back.
