Your Adventure awaits in Colorado’s High Country on the Arkansas River with Monumental Expeditions. The Arkansas River Valley offers both Beginner and Advanced Rafting near the towns of Buena Vista and Salida, Colorado. We also offer Monumental Rafting in Colorado’s High Desert. The Lower Arkansas River offers both Beginner and Advanced Rafting near the town of Cañon City, Colorado. Started in 2015, Monumental Expeditions builds on the experience of 17 seasons running rafting trips on the Arkansas River and other rivers of the West and Northwest. We use that hands-on knowledge to run a company that goes beyond the average outfitter. Special attention is paid to the guest experience and safety on the river. Our guides far exceed industry standard with upwards of 5 years guiding experience. Our goal is to offer you the most memorable and special trip out there.

We had an amazing two days overnight on Browns Canyon! Fresh in from Amsterdam with our family of four (two daughters 11 and 12) we thoroughly enjoyed the river, the views, the hikes and the great food.
Adam and Michael brought a gear raft with all our camping gear and amazing food for lunches and dinner. We camped in a beautiful spot and were all taken care of.
The river was amazing, clear full of rapids and white water with just the right amount of excitement and Adam with his experience guided us trough it amazingly and told us a lot about what we saw in the meantime.
We also did some short hikes/climbs up to see the canyon from above.
Thank you Adam and Michael: we loved it!

Went on a great 1/2 day trip with Monumental Expeditions. We couldn't have had a better experience!! The weather was a bit colder than was forecast and when they saw our two boys shivering before the trip even began, one of the workers went back and grabbed a couple of wetsuits for our boys without us even asking. They went above and beyond to make sure our trip was a pleasant and fun experience.
Adam, our guide, was great. Navigated the waters perfectly, pointed out interesting sights and facts along the way and explained the river terminology so that it was easy to understand and fun for the kids.
One of the other things that we really liked about Monumental Expeditions is that it's a smaller operation and as we watched some of the other groups herd their massive throngs of river rafters into the water, we were able to have the river all to ourselves making it fun, exciting, yet peaceful without a million other rafts surrounding us. We would go with Monumental Expeditions again in the future without hesitation. This was the perfect rafting experience for our family.

Fully enjoyed our day on the river....our guide was so much fun! Knowledgeable about the river and kept us safe and entertained the whole time. The smaller more personable service we received all the way through the booking process and spending the day on the river was great. Very nice but simple lunch prepared by our guides. Thanks again for a great time.

Brilliant day out on the water with Free, our intrepid, knowledgable and fun raft guide! Best balance of spectacular sights and adrenaline but felt completely safe in Free's most capable hands. Would definitely recommend Monumental Expeditions!!

Our family had Jordan as a guide but all three were terrific. My wife and I were very nervous with our 10yo on the rapids but that fear subsided very early.
The rapids itself were class 2 and 3, the first half of trip was confidence building and by the second half the whole family was ready and excited.
The whole experience of parking, waivers, boat safety and launch was so simple and handled professionally. I wouldn't hesitate booking this company again.

I have been rafting before but this was the best experience ever. Adam, our tour guide knows the river. Safety is his number one priority. Next time we will do an overnight trip. Thanks for the awesome rafting experience.

Had such a fun experience with Adam and Rayni. Loved feeling so safe and relaxed while conquering the rapids down Browns Canyon. Definitely better than using the big companies with many rafts at once. We were 5 people on a raft with Rayni and she was so professional, funny, experienced and made the trip so much better with a quick hike up a waterfall along the way. Loved it. Thank you so much!

Omg, best rafting trip ever! Awesome guide, told us lots of stories. It was just 2 of us and Rayni, other couple didn't show up, so Rayni had to do most of the pedaling, no wonder she is so fit😀. We loved everything about the trip! We will be back Kristina and Evgeny.

Our experience with Monumental Expeditions was terrific! Our family of four (two adults, two kids - ages 9 & 15) enjoyed an exciting and beautiful rafting trip on the Arkansas River. Our guide, Rayne was simply incredible. Not only was she an expert on the river but was truly a person of integrity. On our trip, a kayaker flipped and lost his kayak down the river. Another company found the kayak and pulled it to the side of the river. Rayne recognized the kayaker (an older gentleman) who we had seen at our launch site walking along the side of the river. When we came along the empty kayak, she didn't hesitate to pull our raft over and walk back up the river to find the kayaker and help him find his kayak. She stayed with him as he was beat up a little from the river and seemed a bit in shock from the spill and brought him back to our raft. We loaded him and his kayak into our raft and took him upstream to where he had planned to stop. She is a class act and so is this company! Great experience from booking the trip to enjoying the ride...we will be back! :)
