Now This is Colorado

That is the tagline for Chaffee County and it is true from this overlook. Great views of the Collegiate Peaks.

Stopped by this over look on our way into Bueno Vista. What a treat!!! Wonderful view of the valley and mountains . Well worth the stop even if for a 20 minute leg stretch.

Beautiful mountain range. We camped in Buena Vista in June 2015 and had the view of the mountain range from our campsite. We would sit outside and admire the mountains. It's so peaceful.

There are picnic tables and clean pit toilets, but it's the view that makes this a great stop. You're elevated on a hill and look out over the Collegiate Peaks and Buena Vista. It's great for a family photo with this background. It's great stop if you're on a drive to/from Colorado Springs to have a quick snack or picnic... More

This is a great stopping point on our way to the Mt. Princeton Hot Springs from Colorado Springs. Beautiful views for my friends to see where we were heading!

We went to one of the overlooks, there are a few, met nice folks, who took our pic. It was beautiful and a good introduction to our trip into Buena Vista.

We decided to head up to this spot last minute. As we were watching the sunset we thought we were going to get skunked as some clouds formed as the sun was setting. It was a little cool and breezy so we were about to leave, but then the colors started popping and it turned out to be beautiful.

Well, we decided to take a short trip in the neighboorhod and so we headed to Buena Vista since we have never been to the place. Close to the town, I notice a little sign indicating a Scenic Overview. I wasn't sure it still existed but as my husband was driving, I continued to look back and could see buildings.... More

Ah ha! I've done some investigating and have some good info on the Collegiate Peaks Overlook for you. It is on COUNTY Road 304 just north of its intersection with HWY 285. It is on the west part of the road, or on your right if you enter 304 from 285. Also, it's got a sign indicating its existence on... More
