I signed up for the silver sneakers weight training. I had an orientation and learned the weight machines. I started in January and the more I go the better I feel. I took the class to build strength for scuba diving and after 3 months I have a much better sense of balance and can lift all my scuba gear. I am a 70 year old female and I am so much stronger. There are so many classes you can sign up for and there is a great pool and climbing wall as well. Something for everybody.

Who knew such a beautiful rec center was located on the Front Range Plains? A fairly large playroom complete with a climbing area and two twisty slides and many soft play feature brightly decorated. Perfect for toddlers through age 10. An amazingly large indoor water park (think scaled down Great Wolf Lodge) is perfect for toddlers through 13 years old. All are great options for a winter escape for families, grandparents with the grandkids and extended family afternoon day adventures. And who was the genius to create many Family Changing Rooms? Spotless facility. Area residents' fees are discounted, but it is appropriately priced for non-residents.

We are member and love all of the options. The kids are able to play basketball in the gym, play in the indoor playground or game room, climb the rock wall, swim in the pool or walk the track with me.The pool is great for kids of all ages. Our kids love the lazy river, the slides, the family hot tub, and the large boards in the deep pool. The child care is great for when I want to do my own workout, but you should call ahead. The price is pretty good for drop in or for a family membership (which also works at the Community Center). The facilities are always clean and I hardly ever have trouble finding a machine. The classes are all great as well. We have children's birthday parties here too and the kids love the gymnastics party.

Gym related, I am writing this to put pressure on the people who run the Gymnastic coaches. These are kids training your kids. Not sure if they really care of if kids through the door is more important. My issue here is there warm up or the lack there of. Physical activity like gymnastic requires proper warm up not few jumps for 30sec.
Parents please observe and voice your concerns as I have. Was met with hostility by coach Kyle ( his words: you can choose another gym). His excuse, we forget....wow.
I do not think it's a good environment where people in charge do not care.
Watch the warm up to the stretch...I hope this comment here makes them change their attitude.

One reason we moved to Broomfield was because of the Derda Rec Center. They have many types of equipment, a nice walking track, pools, a hot tub, etc. There are many classes for both children and adults. Lots of families have parties in the meeting rooms. The staff are very friendly and helpful—love them! There is a Healthy Hearts Walking Club. You can meet a lot of nice people from Broomfield. Their child sitting is very good for kids and is included in the yearly fee.

This is a state of the art Rec center. I have taken many classes there. The instructors are knowledgeable and fun. The indoor pool is like Disneyland! Everything about Paul Derda is fabulous!

Your entire family will love the Paul Derda Rec Center. There is an activity or class for all ages. You can also just enjoy it on your own. The pool is exciting with a long "river" to float through and multiple swimming lanes.
It is new, clean and the staff are well trained to teach many classes.
On Friday night the teens gather for a fun-filled time. Good way to make new friends if you're new in town or just passing there.
It's definitely one of the "best" of Broomfield to visit.

This place is Awesome. It's a good size workout facility and has every kind of equipment, track, basketball, volleyball court and or pool to do your workouts. There are also classes offered. For Broomfield residents its really inexpensive. For non-Broomfield residents it's just a couple dollars more.
