We spent an rainy afternoon at the Children's Museum with our 2.5 and 5 year old, and they absolutely loved it. It's very intimate, with a lot to do for young children, including an arts and craft station, a light room, science area, dress-up area, and various other themed areas. Grandparents received free admission, and Laura, who worked to found the non-profit Children's Museum, was very welcoming, and took time to speak with us while the children were playing. It was the perfect place to come with the kids to wait out the inclement weather, and definitely worth a visit if you're looking for a kid friendly activity while in Breckenridge.

We recently visited with 7 children ages 2-10 and when I saw the size of the facility I was worried that there might not be enough to keep busy, but it was AMAZING and kept all the kids busy until we had to drag them out at closing time almost 5 hours later! Very reasonably priced and Grandparents are free!

I needed a place to bring a 1 and 3 yr old as parents went skiing. This museum is a glorified daycare type set up with activity centers: craft area (crayons, markers, glue, stickers, puff balls, Popsicle sticks, colored ribbon, etc all at the perfect height for kids to feel as though they are in their own art studio and in charge), doctor area, dress up area, slide and tunnel, pretend airplane, science experiment area, baby area and more.

The kids I brought LOVED this place. You, adult, can pretty easily sit as the kids run all around.

They ask that you clean up after yourself. Fairly easy but there is much to do that makes messes. Reason kids love this place!! There is a big container of dried beans for the kids to dig in and they do go flying all over the place. Pick them up best you can.

You can pack a lunch and eat at a small table. They also sell apple sauce pouches for $1.50, water bottles and juice boxes for $1.00, dried fruit and granola bars etc. and popcorn machine too!

I think the kids enjoyed this more than anything in Breckenridge. We went two times during our week stay and each time kids played and had a blast for 3-4 hrs. And as an added bonus they napped fantastic after. ;)

I expected something bigger and fancier however this was PERFECT and exactly what the kids desired for a fun outing.

Lines lines & more lines oh & have a few hundred dollars to waste on the line rides. Kids obstacle corse is a long walk just to wait in a 30+ line & then have them let a bunch of kids jump line because they already had their helmets, clown car operation. Beer counter was the only spot without a line

We traveled to Breckinridge during mud season so each day we got rained/snowed/sleeted on for 45-60 min. We were downtown shopping when we got caught in and a store owner suggested we try the Children's Museum, we walked in the door and my kids literally squealed in delight. We spent the rest of the afternoon trying to uncover even a fraction of what this museum had to offer.

WE should have done more research as this place is more targeted to 3-4 year olds than 7 and 9 year olds. We figured they are children so there would be something for them to do! Well, there were some interesting things for them but, it was all over very quickly. The activities are completely hands on and I would say would be better for 2-4 year olds. I wish they would have told us that all of the activities are for younger kids as we would have made a different decision. I think if our kids were younger, we would have given this a better rating.

This is a small but entertainment-filled "museum" which caters to children from 0 - 10. The activities work for a range of ages and it was fun to see older kids playing with the younger ones. The museum's main activity areas include a dress-up space, a bear cave, a science room, a craft space, puppet show, toddler play space and a fishing bridge, and my three year old played happily there for several hours on two days. Parents supervise, which means sometimes your kids are playing with you and sometimes with other kids and parents. The staff are lovely and there's a selection of healthy food and drink for snack times. The perfect place to go when the weather turns - as it does regularly in this part of the world.

Well it’s not a bad place, but I really frown upon childrens places that charge almost full price for the adults who aren’t doing more than parenting. $8 per kid, $6 per parent, $1 per grandparent so plan your price accordingly. Stocked with inexpensive preciously loved toys and repurposed products, it’s decent entertainment up to about 4 or 5 years old, but don’t expect to wear them out. A “medical center” stocked with old leg braces and crutches I thought was a little odd. Costume center, fishing with laminated fish, puppet center. I expected a little more out of a Breckenridge establishment.

This is a very nice place to take children for a few hours. There are plenty of things to interest children of all ages, but even the toddler area has choking hazards; marbles, dried beans and other little objects. It is also disappointing that the toys that are for sale are within easy reach for little ones who don't understand the difference between these toys and all the other things. The whole point of a children's play space is so parents don't have to constantly say 'no'. Although the area looked clean enough, it is doubtful if any of the toys get cleaned. A canister or two of cleaning wipes that parents could use would be very helpful to at least swab it down a little.

I've taken my kids (ages 1 and 3) to many different kids museums in different cities and despite the smaller size of this museum, they do a FANTASTIC job filling every corner with hands on activities! My kids were entertained the entire time and constantly moving from one activity so they could enjoy it all. I wish we could've spent more time here but the mountains were calling!

I do think it's strange that grandparents are free but parents have to pay. I'm all for grandparents enjoying time with little ones but I think maybe a 1 parent/guardian should be free and if there's a second adult, they could pay. That would seem fair and practical. Just my opinion :)
