Been going to Breck for over 20 years to ski, and am amazed at how low Vail Corp will go to make a buck.
Several years ago they took over the Peak 9 restaurant, renamed it The Overlook, jacked up prices and crammed in so much seating that you could barely move.
We skipped last year due to rampant Covid, so don’t know if it started last year or this, but when we got to the top of Peak 9 we find that there is no food service there, the bulk of the building is closed, and the one set of restrooms that remain open are apparently never cleaned. More disgusting that porta potties (in comparison, the Pioneer Crossing restaurant on Peak 7, appears to have a staff person in each restroom that is constantly mopping the floor and the toilets are clean).
How can Vail, which is pulling in tons of money, let such shameful restrooms exist on Peak 9?
They obviously have no respect for their guests.
I invite shareholders to go have a look for themselves.

Best BBQ: Whiskey Star BBQ on Main Street. It serves smokey Texas-style BBQ. Kids' meals are served on a metal cafeteria-style tray. Most of us ordered the pulled pork (delicious) and one ordered the catfish, which she said was just like she remembered in Louisiana. I would also recommend the Blue Stag Saloon, also on Main Street: we ordered their Colorado Trail Sausage appetizer of rattlesnake, elk, pheasant, and pretzels with a dipping sauce. We actually weren't even sure which meat was which, but even the kids scarfed it down! Last recommendation: Crepes a la Carte (a take-out) , but only if you're prepared to wait 2 hours for your food. The line may look short, but everything is made custom, and even after you order, you will wait an hour to pick up the food.

We had an amazing trip to Breckenridge and look forward to doing it again! Our room at the Double Tree was a little dark and drab but it was clean, and the perfect location with the Beaver Run Lodge right across the street. Plus all the people were very nice especially Niecee and Oscar at the front desk, the bartender, the very nice people at the Grab and Go, and the very kind gentleman who kept the lobby so clean.
The Epic Mountain Rentals was the best! Raina called us to confirm our sizes and delivery time; she was so very nice and helpful. The equipment was perfect! Great quality, super clean, and perfect fit; they couldn't have made it any easier or better! I highly recommend ordering on- line and in advance of your trip for both rentals and for your tickets. Dropping off and picking up each day was a breeze so we only had to take our boots back to our room was so easy.
After skiing the amazing slopes all day we enjoyed a break in the lodge with an irish coffee or hot cider and appetizers before walking downtown to enjoy probably one of the best meals I've ever had! You must try the Cabin Juice Elevated Eatery & Bar; the Rack of Elk was beyond amazing and worth every penny; the whole atmosphere was wonderful; I wanted to get snowed in there so I could just relax and write my books there. I highly recommend Breckenridge, the Epic Mountain Breck rental, delivery, the Double Tree for it's location and clean, large rooms, and especially Cabin Juice Eatery & Bar upstairs for every meal. We will definitely be back!! Everyone there is so relaxed and chill; make sure you be the same; leave the stress behind and always be kind.

Our family booked a vrbo, ski lessons, lift tickets, and ski rentals for March of 2020. We called ahead to make sure they weren’t thinking of closing because of COVID and were assured they weren’t. However, on our first full day there just as we finished getting our ski rentals the mountain did indeed close down. We were able to eventually get our money back for the rentals and the vrbo was gracious enough to refund part of our money. Breckinridge Ski resort, however, would only give us credit towards 2020. So…we booked for 2021 paying more money to use this credit. Huge snowstorm hit Denver and we were advised not to travel. Again we were unable to get refunded. In order to get our $438 to use while we are in the area this week we would have to purchase yet another pass. In all of our family Breckinridge STOLE over $3000. We used to love taking our family there. We looked forward to repeating it with our grandkids….not happening 😕

Review of Vail Mountain Resort
Pending review
In Dec 202-Jan 2021 I tried skiing at Vail, Breckenridge, and Keystone. I had expected a lot better job of safety during Covid. What I found were packed lift lines (so much for using reservations to limit numbers) where there was no line distancing enforcement. Worse, on the chair lifts they will seat unrelated parties 18 INCHES apart next to someone breathing heavily, wearing a useless mask (if they keep it on at all). I sent in an email complaint and received no response. Finally I was provided the online site for requesting a refund. They immediately made my pass inactive into mid February then provided a very limited number of standard medical/relocation options for actually getting a refund (after they already cancelled my pass!@). In an online chat with customer service they refused to deal with me and basically said they would not elevate my concern.

Summer visit…paid way too much for just a couple rides up the mountain due to crowds and lines.
Storm was approaching in the afternoon and everything shut down.
Views from the top were beautiful, but just. too expensive for what you get.
Staff on the lifts were rude also.
Took the grandkids.. and wouldn’t do it again or recommend to anyone.

We visited UK half term (Mon-Weds after president weekend), we’re told it has been very busy at the weekend but Mon was the busiest day 5-10mins wait for lifts so much quieter than what we’re used to in Europe, then rest of time it was couple of mins or ski straight on. You felt like you’d had loads of space on the slope sometimes even to yourself. All slopes were open. first day it was pretty icy then it snowed so fresh powder, the first time I’ve actually enjoyed skiing in snow.

17yr old son did advance adult ski lesson on first day (he’s too good to ski with us) and had an amazing time, they’re were 5 in the group and it was all blacks/off piste whilst also been given tips to perfect technique.

The resort was smaller than used to in Europe but runs are much more varied from wide open to tree lined, lift pass covers other mountains in the area, we spend 2 day in Beaver Creek which we thoroughly enjoyed.

It’s the most expensive ski holiday we’ve done, due to high prices for passes, ski school and rental (probably double Swiss prices) but we had an amazing time and would love to return.

It is becoming difficult to find something positive to say about Vail Resorts, who owns Breckenridge Ski Area. The debacle at the base of the Godola was unbelievable. People lined up to main Street and down main Street for a block. This was dangerous to say the least. Very long lift lines, no employees, terrain not opening until the end of the day so they can say it is open, and too many people on the mountain are just a few of the issues you will have to deal with if you choose to ski at Breckenridge.

Since Vail Resorts started selling Epic Passes for about the cost of one week's lift ticket cost, the slopes have gotten more and more crowded and the lift lines longer and longer. And the traffic just from Silverthorne has gotten intolerable. The traffic back up on I-70 is often a full mile from the exit. Then you have all the stop lights in Frisco and the 2 lane road to the Hospital. When you finally get to Breckenridge, traffic backs up again because people don't know where they are going. On a busy day it can take over an hour to drive the 15 miles from Silverthorne to Breckenridge. Then you must pay $25/day for parking or park in the remote lot and wait for the bus to take you to the gondola. Then you wait for the Gondola to take you to Peak 7 or 8 where you can begin to stand in line for the lifts. Or you can wait for the bus to take you to Peak 9 to wait in line there.

Breckenridge Ski Resort is always colder and windier than any other place in the county except A Basin. It is always crowded with dangerous intersecting trails. These are some of the reasons we rarely go there. This week we went back for some different skiing. We probably won't go back again this season.

We love Breckenridge and have been coming to this beautiful ski town for years. This review is to give folks an update about the ski school. First I know that they charge a lot of money for the lessons, but what most people do NOT know is that the ski instructors make only minimum range and work very hard to give your kids a great learning experience. They live for your tips and any amount is greatly appreciated. The resort does not tell you this and the instructors are not comfortable asking. It is expensive to live in Colorado and rent is very expensive. Please help out these young people who are working hard all day. We also tipped the folks that cleaned our tables at lunch, they too are working hard to keep us all safe. Also you can only make a lunch reservation on the day you ski at 7 am, be prompt because they are booked up with in 10 minutes. We found the whole experience to be safe and very fun.
