We took the level 3 half day white water rafting adventure on the Arkansas River from Bueno Vista. It was me, my husband and three teenage boys. (our son and two friends). Mind you, I'm no spring chicken and Im not on the skinny side. It took the guide (ALEX) and two boys to get me into the raft but we did it! What an adventure! I fell half way out at one point and Alex grabbed my life jacket and hauled my fat rear end back into the raft. I thought it was a hoot but I about gave my husband a heart attack. Alex was a wonderful guide. He knows his job , very experienced.....I felt safe with him. Quite a gentleman....he did his momma proud. This excursion was the highlight of our vacation. To Alex and all the guides who do this job daily, I pray for your safety and well being. Keep on keeping on. Thank you for the great memories. We had a BLAST!!!! Oh and lastly, whenever I see a picture of a Leprechaun, I will surely think of Alex.

What an amazing experience. We drove down to Leadville, CO and did zip lining with Top of the Rockies. We then had lunch at Tennessee Pass cafe and headed down to Buena Vista to whitewater raft. KODI was great. Curtis our guide was very knowledgable about the canyon, he was funny and made our trip a blast! We would definitely return to KODI. We did the half day Browns Canyon of clas 2 and 3 rapids which was a good adventure gor all of us ranging in age of 12 - 47!! Highly recommend!

We went with AVA tours, meeting in Idaho Springs from Breckenridge. We drove our own personal vehicle. Even though the AVA website is hard to use and extremely slow, they were very organized and professional in person. I was a little nervous as it was my first time, but they strongly believe in safety and took the time to practice safety and go through drills with the group.
The water was only 38 degrees so wet suits and splash jackets (along with helmets and life jackets) were required. No cotton was allowed because of the risk of hypothermia.
We had a blast! Our guide was very good.

We had a family reunion in Breckenridge and 15 of us (6 kids included between 7-13 yrs) went rafting on the Blue River at Frisco. Reservations were easy to make and discounted for our group's size. All appropriate gear (wetsuit, water shoes, jacket etc) was included in price--not charged extra. Nearly all of us were first timers, but our Guide Rhone was wonderful with instruction and making us feel comfortable with the rapids. The other boat had Jerico and they had a great experience also. Will certainly use this company again if ever in Breckenridge, Buena Vista or Canon City. Special shout out to Napoleon, Rhone!! Blessings <3

My kids took my husband and I on the Blue River Rafting Trip with AVA Rafting. We are first time rafters ( except for my daughter in law). Chris S. was our guide and outstanding. He was knowledgeable, friendly, helpful and did a great job instructing us down the rapids. The scenery was stunning with the river surrounded by Mountains. All in all a great time on the river!

We had a great time! We were a little concerned bringing 3 kids under 6. The float was perfect. There were maybe 2-3 little rapids that got our heart racing...but it was pretty relaxing and gorgeous. Our guide Kelsey was awesome. Couldn't of had a better experience.

Our trip on the blue river was great! Ross, our guide, was intelligent, fun and professional. He was cool and laid back but when my husband fell out of the raft, he was able to quickly pull him back in to the raft. He gave us all the guidance we needed to be safe while taking us through the best rapids on our beginners trip. My husband and I had a blast!

Hi, is end of March / early April a good time for rafting for newbies?
Written September 26, 2019
Hi! March/ April is a little early for most rafting trips. Most sections open up in May. We'll have options for beginners May through October with ideal conditions typically in late July. Give our sales office a call, and they can steer you to the best trip for your group.

Is there a weight limit on the rafts per person? Several of our family members are 250 +
Can they raft?
Written August 5, 2019
They can! There is no max weight for rafting, although we do require that the life jacket can be buckled. Give us a call and we'll be happy to discuss which trip might be best for the group.

A little confused on where we can raft with y'all. Do we launch right from Breck? We are coming in from Denver. Have rafted in Idaho Springs already so want to try somewhere new and Breck is a good distance for us so hoping that you have a spot in Breck where we can raft.
And where is the ziplining- in Breck as well?
Written May 27, 2019
Hi, thanks for your question! We don't have any rafting right in the town of Breck, but we do have several options nearby. The Blue River is the closest option and running great right now (it's about 30 minutes north of Breck). We also have trips on the Upper Colorado out of Kremmling and out of Buena Vista on the Arkansas. Our zipline courses are in Idaho Springs and Buena Vista, so if you're hoping to raft and zip but are looking for a new river, I would recommend our Buena Vista location, which is about a 2 hour drive from Denver. If you have any additional questions, please call our sales team, and they'll be happy to get you set up with the best trip for your needs.

Where do you launch the Upper Colorado Half Day Float? Is it out of Kremmling or somewhere else?
Written January 18, 2018
Hi Lauren,
Our Upper Colorado River Rafting Trips run from our Kremmling, Co location. Is there anything else I can help you with?

Hi Tom. There are a bunch of great lodging options in Breckenridge. A few we suggest are the Village, Grand Timber Lodge, River Mountain Lodge, Main Street Station and Beaver Run Resort. The Bivvi is a great option on the south end of town. If you would like a B&B experience, I suggest the Fireside Inn or Abbett Placer Inn.

When is your "season" for rafting? Our dates for being in Breckenridge are April 2-6, 2015. Is that a problem? Thanks for your help.
Louie
Written January 18, 2015
Hi Louie,
We start rafting in May and usually end in September. Dates do fluctuate due to water levels but we have had a great snowpack this year and expect a great rafting season! April dates should be perfect.
Let us know if you have any other questions.
