This as a great tour at a reasonable price. The tour guide shared the history of the mine. We paned for gold, but didn't find any. I highly recommend this tour.

Excellent tour of one of the mine tunnels. Very informative of the history of the mine and how the ore was removed. Walk the tunnel into the mountain and see one of the mined veins. Not for little kids. Tour lasted about 45-60 minutes. Is...More

We've been on some other mine tours but certainly enjoyed this the most. The guide was great with history on the mine as well as the describing the realistic conditions the miners endured. The tour was great. Younger kids on the tour seemed to enjoy...More

This was just a neat place my wife and I visited. It's got a little of everything. A really interesting mine tour that is not too strenuous, but gave us some great perspectives. Our guide was knowledgeable and entertaining. The property is clean and well...More

This is a must do for anyone interested in the history of the American west and the gold rush. The tour shows you the reality of life for a late nineteenth century miner.

We arrived 55 minutes ahead of our tour. Our family of 5 included three teenagers. All three teenagers loved the slide and Facebook lived going down the slide. Beware, the slide is tight, fast, and doesn't take you to the end. You have to scoot...More

This is a sweet place to spend a couple of hours with the family. Our tour guide was super nice and very knowledgeable of the mine and its historic practices. The history behind it is amazing and quite sad because the life of a miner...More

We went and really glad we went. The tour is chilly so bring a jacket. Your shoes may get a little damp just FYI. But it's one of those things you should do once in your life. The drive up from Breckenridge was cool too....More

At first glance you might think the entrance fee is expensive but 1/2 way into the tour I believed it was worth every penny. I've been in a working coal mine and a copper mine but this was completely different! Kate was an awesome guide...More

Very informative tour with a great guide Betsy. It was a great history lesson for the kids but pricey. If you are looking for an activity that is not very adventurous this is for you as long as you are not afraid of the dark

Country Boy Mine (1 Replies)
Has anyone been to Country Boy Mine? We're planning a July trip to the area and this is a possibility. The website looks interesting but I'd like some inside info. Thanks!

Breckenridge June 27 - June 31...need some suggestions!!! (2 Replies)
Hi All!!! My Hubby and I will be traveling to Colorado June 26 - July 5. We will be in Breckenridge for 4 of those days. I'm needing help with suggestions on places to eat that we SHOULD NOT miss. My plans for those 4 days consist of taking a day to walk around Breckenridge's Main street, taking a scenic train ride on Georgetown loop railroad and touring the silver mine as well as panning for gold, and touring Country Boy Mine. Are there any attractions/things to do I should add to our list??...More

I would suggest taking the free gondola up and maybe doing some hikes that are walking-distance from town (such as the Sawmill Reservoir or Iowa Hill).
