My wife, 2 daughters and I took a tour with Herschel and we all had a blast. The e-bikes really allow you to see a bunch of stuff in a short period of time, and Herschel did a great job of giving us interesting tidbits throughout (but not overdoing it). He also kept a close eye on some thunderstorms and steered us away, and even brought along some rain jackets for everyone. Herschel was engaging, fun and in tune with our riding levels and keeping us safe. Couldn't have asked for more.

We had a wonderful mountain biking tour with Herschel. He was able to easily accommodate our family of 4 including 2 kids ages 8 and 10. He was great helping them navigate the bikes with gears and made the tour the perfect length for us. I would definitely book again when we are all more experienced and can go farther.
I can see how the tour could be easily made perfect for any riding level.

We considered another company for our bike tour, but were drawn to BBT because they let kids age 12-plus operate their own bike. Our kids (12 & 14) were more than capable of operating the e-bikes safely, especially since Herschel gave us a complete safety overview. The tour itself was awesome with our knowledgeable and engaging guide Herschel. It was paced just right while he steered us away from busy roads and regaled us with stories at each stop. This was the true Boulder bike experience!

The trip to Cuba holds potential but doesn't yet deliver. Our group was too large which posed logistical challenges; There were few options provided for activities, as instead the group was expected to move as a "pack" even in urban areas; The farm and salsa dancing were interesting but virtually no other cultural information was provided; we biked far less than advertised; US policy changes have made accessing eastern Cuba challenging and 10-14 hour bus rides just aren't viable for a short trip with a busy itinerary (this was out of Herschel's control for our trip given the timing of the policy change, but important for the future); planned evenings were too late given regular early starts. The local guide was fantastic, as were the local proprietors of the lodging facilities. While eventually this tour may succeed, it is not yet ready for prime time and not yet worth the price.

I had a wonderful experience on a Cuba bike tour in December 2019. I am a slow rider and, although it was a bit out of my current comfort zone, I was able to keep up with the group and received tremendous support, particularly from local cyclist Jorge Ferria.
The best part of the Cuba trip was the interaction with local Cubans. Herschel has developed friendships with many people over the 15 years he has been traveling to Cuba. This means you get to be in the position of a friend of a friend. Cubans are warm and welcoming in general but it takes friendship to go beyond their reserve. Spending time talking, playing music and relaxing in people's homes was a special experience. I loved staying in the Casa Particulars and I have become friends with some of the people in whose homes I stayed.
It is also not just about cycling. We snorkeled, rode horses, learned history and more. One of the highlights was a party in our honor with a live band, dancing and a roasted pig.
I traveled to Cuba decades ago. I was only in Havana and spent endless hours in orchestrated meetings for my delegation. Away from Havana, in small towns and the countryside, it was a completely different experience. This trip opened up a new world in Cuba for me and I would return to once again spend time with new friends I met on this tour. This connection is a rarity in any group tour. It is what makes this particular cycling tour unique.

We took the bike to farm ride, and had a wonderful experience with both Herschel and his son. The ride out to the farm on electric bikes was easy and beautiful, and the lunch served at the farm was truly marvelous. I would recommend this ride highly for anyone traveling to Boulder that is looking for a unique and special experience.

Herschel took 8 of us out on a tour. We were in Denver for a bachelor party. Our group had a variety of skill levels. Herschel catered to all of us with ease. The bikes he provided were of excellent quality and he made sure to assess all our abilities. Herschel provided a history of the area and also brought his son Ivan along. After the tour ended, we all had a cheers toast to an excellent day. Afterwards, Herschel sent us awesome photos from our tour. I highly recommend booking this tour.

What an amazing ride! Our guide, Leah, was a great leader for the day, both for the technical/biking aspects, and just being a lot of fun to ride with. A buddy took a spill and bent a derailleur, however Leah was able to fix it quickly and keep us going. Highly recommend!

Herschel was a great guide for our very first family mountain bike ride! He sized the bikes for our group (young and adult riders), explained the ride plan and trail etiquette. Most important, he coached and encouraged the first time, young riders in our group. Thank you!

Our trail guide Kat was very informative and gave us a lot of history and information about where we were riding. She took us on a 27 mile adventure that include fast descents and challenging and technical climbs. Hershel sent us with a cliff bar for a snack and turkey sandwiches for lunch break. The equipment was awesome. We upgraded to full suspension mountain bikes. Seeing Eldorado was worth it. Would do this again and recommend this to everybody.
