Our team had a lot of fun on this Segway tour of Boulder. It was a neat way to see the area while saving their energy for the softball field! The guides and owners of Colorado Segway Tour were more than accommodating for our large group and our schedule. Many thanks!!

What a great way to see the sites of Boulder! Jessie gave us a great tour of the foothills, the Boulderado, Chautauqua and neighborhoods. She was friendly, attentive and easy to be with. The tour begins in the backyard of a home where you get a tutorial on riding/driving a Segway before venturing down streets. Although you might be busy watching formpotjoles and traffic, it is still so much fun. Recommended.

My wife and I took the Boulder tour on Saturday, August 22. Initially we called in the morning to book the 12:00 tour, but they were full. A little later the company called back and told us they had an opening, so we took it. I really wish we hadn't because in the end it felt like an incredible waste of money.

We have previously taken two Segway tours--one in San Diego and one in Seattle. Those tours were fantastic. They were highlights of our trips and endure as some of our favorite vacation memories. We were hoping for the same in Boulder, but it just wasn't the case. There are several reasons for this.

First, our tour guide (Shane) spent a full 47 minutes training the 7 of us in the tour group on how to ride a Segway. He began by showing the group basic operation as a whole, then went on to individually tutor us one at a time. When he asked for volunteers, my wife went first and I followed. During the one-on-one training, everybody else is standing there staring at you and he asked us to repeatedly do certain operations on the Segway. He kept commenting how our we weren't performing a certain move quite perfectly and asked us to do them again and again. It was very frustrating. We were doing absolutely fine and had experience on these things from our previous tours. It was a total waste of time. After over 5 minutes with each of us, we were allowed to go to the yard and "practice" while the others got started.

Luckily my wife volunteered to go first, because at least we got the extra time to ride our Segways while the others waited for their training. If I were the last person on, I would have been very upset at missing a third of my Segway riding time. I understand why he was thorough, and safety is important, but 47 minutes of a 2-hour tour is not really acceptable nor necessary, especially at $75 a pop. This was not an issue on our previous tours. A thorough group training exercise can easily take about 15 minutes, and then you're off and running.

How do I know it was 47 minutes? Because it took so long that I checked my phone upon us finally leaving. 12:47. I also verified that we started on time, and we were back at the starting point before the clock hit 2:00.

Second, the fact is there is little to see around Boulder. The tour company can't do anything about this, and perhaps we should have known better. But riding through residential neighborhoods isn't my idea of a city tour. Obviously, Boulder doesn't have the cool tourist attractions compared to San Diego or Seattle, so perhaps we should have known that. I suppose I assumed there was actually some cool stuff to see if a company offered Segway tours there. Stopping for a view of the Flatirons was cool, and Shane did take a couple photos of us, which I appreciated. But by and large we had to keep up and avoid the cars, because you had to ride in the street at all times (apparently no Segways on sidewalks in Boulder).

Third, the "house" is a creepy hole in the wall. My wife and I both used the bathroom facilities, which are clearly as old as the house (which was apparently one of the first buildings in Boulder--?). Not a very welcoming/professional outfit.

I feel like TripAdvisor let me down on this one. I thought it would be a can't miss experience with the incredibly high reviews, but I was wrong. It was a major disappointment. It gets 2 stars (and not 1) simply because riding on a Segway is a lot of fun.

Segway tours are becoming one of my favorite ways to learn about cities we visit. Alex mixed in just the right amount of history, geography and architecture to make this informative without us feeling like we were attending a lecture. This is a small outfit, and I really appreciated how they accommodated our schedule. This is on the expensive side, but highly recommended!

We took the opportunity to act like tourists in our own town and all of us, including our foreign visitors, enjoyed this activity. Our group had varying ages and activity levels, but everyone smiled the entire time. Our guide Alex did a great job ensuring everyone was comfy in the Segways before we left on tour, and was prepared to spend as much time as necessary to make sure everyone would enjoy the tour. The information was easy to follow and not over the top from a historical point. We saw many sites, with the highlight being Chataqua Park and the great views. We certainly got our money's worth with a 2+ hour tour, and everyone was happy and pleasantly tired. It's safe to say those in our group would certainly give Segways a try in a new city or with this group again, thanks to Alex and the offerings of Colorado Segway.

Roxie was a great guide / instructor! By the time the training was complete, I felt confident that I could manage the Segway and totally enjoyed the tour through Boulder, up and down the winding residential streets. My brother Doug who was visiting from Florida had a fabulous time too! Will do it again without hesitation with family who is local!

We got this on an Amazon local deal. I can't imagine having spent $75/person on this as it was definitely not worth it. Segway tour= lazy walking tour. We took the trip in Denver. Our guides insured we were safe and overseen prior to leaving the parking lot. I thought it was a bit slow to get started, the tour was short, and we barely saw Denver. Our guide was not particularly knowledgeable and tried a bit hard. We really enjoyed riding the Segway though and we happy with the experience becuase that is just fun.

I have never been on a Segway tour before and at 63 years of age I'm a little late starting. Our guide Christine made the whole process very easy and enjoyable. We were given an insight into the history of Boulder which wasn't to overpowering to the casual visitor.

The Segway machine's were easy to master and the training covered everything you need to know.

It's worth noting that you will be driving on the road amongst traffic although the route taken was very quiet.

Recommended if you want to do sightseeing with a twist.
