This short hike is reached by driving west on Canyon about 11 miles to the parking area and then hiking about 1/2 mile to the falls. A fun summer outing, but don't try it in winter, or when there has been a lot of rain in the mountains! Not wheelchair accessible (or walkers either, for that matter, but it's pretty... More

We stopped and walked around a little on the road and took a few pics. The trail to the falls was shut down due to high water levels and fast river currents. Bummer

By Going up Boulder Canyon, Rt 119, you pass this little, but spectacular falls. In winter it is frozen and a beautiful sight. sharing your experiences, you're helping travelers make better choices and plan their dream trips. Thank you!

The falls are close but you can still see a little bit of them. While it is disappointing that you can get to see them (a lot of people were jumping the gates and even climbing up the rocks and cliffs way above them) the drive is magnificent through the canyon. I took a huge amount of photos and I... More

Drove up Boulder Canyon after our morning bike tour. Many areas to pull over and get out of car to enjoy scenery and hike.

It's an easy walk from the main highway for a beautiful view of the waterfall. Just 10 minutes out of downtown Boulder. A must see if you're in the area.

I used to come here in the 70s and early 80s...you used to go all year round...go ice climbing, it was freer and wilder...it belonged to the people. Then they decided to close it in fall, make the walkway safer to the point where they may as well put in an escalator. Another example of messing with nature and making... More

These falls are just beautiful and well worth the drive west from Boulder. There are quite a few options for viewing locations and all are absolutely stunning. You find yourself standing absolutely still, standing and staring with just the noise of the water rushing past in front of you. Worth a refreshing visit.

It is still a beautiful area!!! Even some of the locals don't know about the "Doughnut Rock" (also called "Picture Rock") that is right along the roadside! This is a very sentimental area for our family - having our picture taken there with different generations! So even though you can't go back to the Falls - you can see parts... More

At least that's what the sign says ... and they're serious as there are two locked gates preventing folks from getting in. I gather that the heavy rains earlier this year, plus folks illegally getting off the trail to rock climb has destabilized much of the loose rock, preventing a hazard to hikers on the trail. You can see some... More
