Good Loud Music

Here is where you go to hear good music, played very loudly, and dance, and have a drink. The sound system is great, the venue is a bit run down, but who cares, it's always dark... read more

We (KOLARS) recently played here and had an awesome time. As a band there are few venues who are as nice and accommodating. They had guys helping us load and unload. The sound guys and monitor guys were also really cool and did a great job. Boulder is a great town with a great crowd. Would love to play this... More

We saw Wilco in small venue before they took off on a european tour. This venue is small about 600 peeps max, and sound is fantastic! Not much seating, but if come early there is few spots. We like how it it, but it can get hot with bodies, so don't over dress.

While attending Walk Off The Earth's concert with our 10 year old son we were struggling to see the stage. After the first act a kind man (we later learned his name was Robert) invited us to the balcony to experience the concert without any obstructions!!! OMG he made our entire night...what an amazing concert that all of could see!!!... More

The Fox is the 'must play' venue for any visiting name or any local artist on the way 'up'. Lines outside will let you know if the new acts are worthy! We often have been know to lurk out in the 'grey 'corner as we call it just to get a taste of what the youngsters are doing these days.Very... More

Small venue but this will allow the performance to be so different from what you are used to. It can be crowded and the layout is not the best. The sound system is great.Get caught smoking tobacco and you'll be thrown out!

Staff is mean and pushy - throwing people out left and right for "getting too into the music" or "being too drunk" when they were perfectly fine. Theater is hot, stuffy, and run-down. Probably wouldn't go back here unless the band wasn't playing anywhere else in a 50 mile radius (which rarely happens).

The sound here is great and if the show is not sod out is a great venue. Whenever bigger crowds converge the terrible layout is really exposed. On the sides everyone is standing sideways and the flow up and down stairs and aisles becomes treacherous especially when returning with a drink. The sound is the one redeeming quality to the... I don't think the owners have updated a thing here in 20 years, but the sound is well worth it! Any artist should love to play here as well, any patron will get a great show- up close and personal.

I have seen so many great shows here. Great small venue to see a band! The staff are generally cool, and being across the street from the University means there is always a young, energetic crowd. If you are traveling through Boulder, make sure to check out the shows here, and at the Boulder theater. Both are great...
