Great hike to hotel site and continental divide lookout

We found and followed the hike on Alltrails and it was an amazing hike for 3 miles. I believe it was called the rattlesnake trail. The views were fantastic. Highly recommend.😟

Beautiful Park: Do Not Miss
Oct 2021
You can see a lot from the car but this is a get-out-and-hike kind of place. Stunning and worth a full day, but even an hour will reset your brain.

Beautiful rock mtns by stream + climbing
Aug 2021
This beautiful park is only 15 minutes from Boulder. We only had a short time to see this place because of a flight. It was so worth the $10 entry fee (state park so National park passes are not accepted). The pass is good up until noon the day after purchase. The drive is short to the visitor’s center right next to the stream with some picnic tables. We parked close to the Fowler trail and walked as far as we could (? 1/4 mile, about marker 9) as the rest of that trail was currently closed due to rock fall. It was a flat, dirt trail wide enough a wheelchair may be able to go, but it’d be a bit tough since it’s not paved. The view was awesome: trail was right along the edge so you could see the stream as well as the canyon and rock climbers too. We reparked close to the footbridge (crosses the stream) closer to the entrance and then watched rock climbers on both sides of the canyon from the bridge. Would love to go back to spend more time here and see the continental divide.

Steeper than expected
Jul 2021
We visited to hike Rattlesnake Gulch. Views of the creek and rock climbers scaling the wall between the lower parking lot and the trailhead. Previous reviews said that this was an easy or moderate hike. It was pretty steep switchbacks for me, but the trail was well marked. The Continental Loop had amazing views. From the pictures, I had expected the Gulch to have waterfalls and a creek.

One of my favorite stops
Jun 2021 • Couples
We had some extra time so decided to take a drive through and so very glad we did! It has been one of my favorite stops during our Boulder area visit of Colorado. Some of the roads are pretty narrow, but not bad if you drive it slow and share the road. The rock formations were only accentuated by the beautiful stream winding through the park. There were quite a few rock climbers that was pretty interesting to watch!

Pick up some spring water on your way into the park. The hiking there is great. The nature is fantastic. All trails are thrilling.

Always worth a visit

Sometimes we overlook the obvious - while this gem is right in the Boulder area, many people never visit it.

Found a special day hike while on vacation
Jul 2020
Went for a day hike to the Continental Divide. Awesome! The hike is moderately hard and just a little over 3.5 miles round trip. The view at the end is worth every minute.

Lovely

Never heard of this beautiful little state park until we saw the sign and decided to take a look. It was a lovely surprise. South Boulder Creek runs through the canyon. We saw rock climbers and fishermen during our visit. It is a very pleasant place.
