The rock climbers are dedicated and you can get some oh-wow moments watching. The pool is must-visit, ideally early in the day as it's popular. And it's always cold because this water is fresh out of the mountain--a very special experience versus most pools whose water has been there for many months. That immersion is well worth it. And drink... More

Absolutely stunning hikes along rushing water with views of daredevil rock-climbers. Many trail-heads with varying degrees of difficulty available. We drove through the weird little town up to the park entrance and started from there. Love this park.

We were there early on a weekday so parking was no issue whatsoever, and we saw very few people along our way. The rattlesnake gulch hike is absolutely beautiful. Good moderate hike with a pretty good incline at times but nothing technical and no scary ledges, etc. Altitude is the biggest factor if you've just arrived in CO. Hydrate, pace... More

Hiked the Rattlesnake Gulch hike. Great hike less than 10 miles from Boulder. Hike has moderate elevation gain. Nice and forested, Went all the way to top for great views of the Continental Divide. Kind of neat to see the train pass through the canyon and off into the tunnel. Crag's Hotel site is also interesting. Makes you think of... More

You can watch the folks climb the mountains....very brave people. Several paths to see incredible views. We have hiked several of them and they are all breathtaking views. Rattlesnake hike is one of our favorites. Get a map at the entrance to the Canyon from the Ranger. They are always friendly and happy to answer questions. Don't forget drinking water... More

The park is easy to find. We hesitated a bit when we got to the end of the paved road as it almost seemed like we had hit a dead-end. There was an Eldorado sign there, but the road in almost looks like it was a private drive. The dirt road first wanders through some fairly rough looking housing and... More

Lots of rock climbers, little trails and cool waterfalls. It was hot but we enjoyed our walk and scenic views.

Every part of the canyon is a sight to behold. We took Rattlesnake Trail and saw the Continental Divide. Only 15 minutes from town.

The Eldorado Canyon. Our first stop was the National Park booth where one pays $8.00 to park with the canyon. The park ranger was full of personality and we could not help but enjoy his sense of humor. He suggested the Fowler Trail and that was a very easy scenic trail. We did leave trail and got lost. Proof of... More

My wife and I recently moved to the Boulder, CO area from the east coast. After unpacking, we jumped at the opportunity to explore some nearby trails in Eldorado Canyon State Park this past weekend. After paying $8 to park, my wife, daughter and I ventured onto the Rattlesnake Gulch Trail, an approximately 3 mile roundtrip hike that brings you... More
