About Boulder Walking Tours
Not at all hokey but still super fun and also informative -- what could be better?!! Our excellent walking tours are #1 on TripAdvisor for a reason -- we explore Boulder's best places, by foot, and with knowledgeable and passionate guides! 1) Downtown's "Best of Boulder": An award-winning walking tour described as ".... a gem not to be missed!" Fun and fact-filled stroll through vibrant downtown Boulder bringing together history, architecture, people & planning. Join us as we wander the colorful and historic Pearl Street Mall and neighboring areas in a celebration of this incredible community! 2) Chautauqua ~ Living History: Emerging from a cultural movement of the late 19th century, the Chautauqua continues, through simplicity and a wide variety of cultural offerings, to exemplify its original ideals: lifelong learning, love of nature, music & the arts. This delightful tour is narrated with historic photographs that bring the landmark to life.Birds & Bees: Naturalist-Guided Hikes: Our guides are professional naturalists with years of experience guiding hikes in Boulder's Open Space and Mountain Parks. Explore the flora and fauna of the Rocky Mountain foothills -- small groups guaranteed to ensure personalized attention! 3) CU Boulder: A Learning Landmark: This fun and informative stroll through the award-winning CU-Boulder campus offers a thorough exploration of today's dynamic university, but rooted in background from yesteryear. The first building, opened in 1876, sat atop a donated, treeless bluff, its bell tower ringing the vision that spurred "Old Main" and, indeed, the town of Boulder itself. Since then, the campus has expanded in significance ~ architecturally, intellectually, and civically. Come wander, and wonder, with us!

I had the good fortune to learn about the Boulder Chautauqua with Kent as my guide. Kent was knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the philosophy and history of both the national and local Chautauqua movement. His conversation was engaging and full of relevant facts about the structures on the property and their histories. His passion and curiosity for local history is contagious. I'm looking forward to learning more about Boulder on the Best of Boulder tour.

I was visiting family and booked this walking tour of downtown Boulder the morning of the tour. Kent gave a wonderful tour with very interesting stories of the history of Boulder as well as current events. I enjoyed seeing historical sites, architectural gems, a great view from the parking ramp and Pearl Street. I have been to Boulder several times but Kent showed me many new places and I learned fascinating history! Thanks for the book recommendation, Chief Left Hand. I look forward to the Chautauqua Tour next time I visit Boulder.

Kent is a wealth of information and a good storyteller so is enjoyable to listen to. He is also flexible and loves answering questions. Even though I have lived in town for 25 years I still learned a lot about the history of Boulder and was able to look at the city from a slower pace to see things I had never noticed. Would highly recommend for people visiting and current residents alike. Thanks Kent!

I found myself with a morning to spare in Boulder and booked a walk with Kent. I was lucky enough to be the only person on the tour that day but this did not seem to worry Kent. He chatted to me and personalised the tour to include my interests. I found the history of Boulder fascinating, especially as an Australian visitor. So many settlers made wise decisions that still impact on the beauty of Boulder. Thank you Kent for a great insight into Boulder. I highly recommend Boulder Walking Tours.

First off, Kent is such a lovely guy. Easy to communicate with via email, and accommodating of our needs. He brings Boulder to life and we had a great time on the 2 hour walk with him. He was very patient with our baby, and showed us some great spots that we would otherwise for sure have missed. Loved learning about Boulder today. It’s a beautiful city and we can see why it’s been named the happiest place in the USA! Thanks Kent!
