a step hike that will not disappoint you. If you like outdoor , this is a great place. There is a restaurant if you just like to see the view. Parking is limited on the good weather days. It is a popular destination with locals.

The history and tranquility of the Chautauqua are well worth a few hours during a visit to Boulder. At the trial head to the Boulder Flatirons, it is a great place to take a break after hiking the Boulder hills.

I loved learning about the school teachers and intellectuals of an earlier era who came here on retreats to broaden their minds. The dining room staff provided excellent service and the food was terrific. The whole facility is on the side of a rather steep incline and for people who are out of shape (like me), this is not an... More

You don't need to dedicate much time (we had an hour and a half), or work too hard to get up close and personal with the flat irons. Easy parking and well traveled trails up towards the mountains/foothills. It was busy but not annoyingly so. Would work for all ages of hikers/walkers.

Worth a trip. Also close to the flat irons. Take a walk to the base of the mountains from an urban park. Then explore how a lost generation valued self improvement and education.

Big old house full of character. Great menu, and staff are attentive and very helpful. Delicious food. Well priced. Perfect after a few hours on the surrounding trails.

Beautiful system of hiking trails. You will experience a variety of different landscapes as elevation changes. Trails can be challenging so wear your boots and bring your water! So, so pretty and a great outdoor activity!

Yeah, they're some pretty awesome mountains! Also a nice playground and awesome theater that plays silent movies in the Summer and has concerts and comedians. Beautiful place to go for a hike, show or picnic.

Rather then drive to Estes Park during our visit to Boulder, we hiked the Flatirons. The ranger was extremely helpful in planning our routes and options, based on our skill level. He warned us about needing extra water for certain routes and we forgot about it....which was a big mistake. We somehow veered off our trail and were miles off... More

Jake at the information centre in Rangers Cottage has great advice on different hiking options to suit ability, time and interests. The views are spectacular and the people are friendly. If you are planning to bring your dog do be wary - although some areas require dogs to be on leashes there are many people who ignore these directions. If... More
