One In A Million Find
Nov 2018
What a find this little place was. We stopped to get a photo of it, being the only thing around ... and out walks Anthony saying he will move his truck so I get a better shot. Then he invited us in, and we stepped back in time. Anthony IS this store. Moving from Brooklyn 3 years ago he bought the store. It's a fully functioning general store, but he's kept so much of it the way it was, and he adds to it with his unique form of art. Warm and welcoming, I think I'll make a point of going to Utah that way from now on, just to get more of Anthony's personality and hospitality.

This place was a life saver
Jul 2019 • Friends
In a group of 8 women going from Durango to Moab on mountain bikes, this place was an oasis- cold beverages, a lovely patio, ice cream and popsicles (we almost cleaned them out); very cute shop with wonderful hospitality (we stayed/were encouraged to stay on the front porch for hours, and were given fresh apricots and cherries, we were allowed to use their water hose to cool off and wash the mud off our bikes). I can't say enough nice things about Tony and Sarah and this gem in the desert! If you go by Bedrock this place is a mandatory stop.

Anthony is the Man! From Brooklyn to Bedrock
Apr 2019 • Couples
Stopped to stretch my legs after driving for 4 hours at this interesting wooden general store in the Paradox Valley. Out pops Anthony out of a top floor window and starts a chat. Who, when, where, how? Amazing guy. The location was used in the movie, Thelma and Louise and I can see why. What a location!. Anthony is starting an Airbnb at the location. It can only succeed.

Stop and see!
Mar 2019
Built in the Mid 1850's this charming little store is in the middle of nowhere. Stop and stretch your legs. This is where Thelma and Louise stopped too! They have curios, gas, drinks and a trusty outhouse. Neat antiquities and a talkative owner.

The new owner is an absolute pleasure!! Such a great person! His story is amazing. This is definitely a place to stop and say hi relax and share a story. Remember to slow down and take it all in.

We just stopped for a soda and left an hour later. The owner is a very chatty and interesting guy. The store has some one of kind jewelry. It is worth a stop!

A General Store in the middle of nowhere.
Sep 2017
This living time capsule is truly a 100 year (or so) throwback. In the midst of the fascinating Paradox Valley, it is worth the stop. Unfortunately, the last time we stopped it was closed (Sept, 2017).

Bedrock Visit

We stopped for a pit stop and was greeted by a gregarious gentleman from New Jersey. He is an artist, rock collector and farmer. He brewed us a cup of coffee and visited with us. It was a nice change from the hustle and bustle of tourist traps. He was a true people person and enjoying his new life.

Bedrock General Store
Jul 2017 • Couples
The self proclaimed care takers of the Bedrock General Store are the nicest people you could ever meet. They know their history on the location and can quote the scene from Thelma and Louise that was filmed there. Store is well stocked with anything you could need while adventuring out in the middle of nowhere. They've got new harnesses and leashes for your dog, a wide variety of ice cold drinks, artwork and jewelry by local artists, all camping essentials, and conversations about anything and everything. Hands down the most authentic General Store. Definitely worth a stop and you hang out on the porch where they have misters to help cool you down in the hot weather.
