It is a beautiful man-made place. Fishing without a permit is ok as its "private land". It was loud and full of several events while we where there, so not as secluded as we would have liked. Fairly easy for family though... But the toilet facilities need an upgrade. The waterfall isn't that impressive, but the boulders at the base... More

I have camped at Wellington lake since 1995 and over the years up till the longtime caretaker left it was a great place to visit. Still beautiful, but the toilets are not well maintained and one day was out of tp. The biggest reason this got just an average review is that there was NO POTABLE WATER and no indication... More

To be fair we didn't stay here because there we no sights available once we finally arrived @7 on a Friday night. We left Manitou Springs just before 5 and made a brief stop at Jimmy John's in Woodland park on the way. Google maps says 1 hrs. 40 mins. but it actually takes much longer. We towed a small... More

I was able to book an early summer family camping trip to this popular camping spot. So glad I did! We went for just a night, knowing the weekends get busy. One cautionary note: watch out for campsite next to the "public use" spaces. You quickly end up with a lot of people wandering over. I did appreciate the management... More

Our little family just loves the castle mountain area. the lovely hiking trail behind the campground ends at a great little waterfall. the kids always love playing in the water.

Beautiful place that, sadly, is poorly maintained. Sites are pretty close together and if your neighbors are loud, you'll know! No electricity, no grills. Nasty latrines. I think this place gets a lot of traffic given it's gorgeous location but it desperately needs TLC. It makes me sad that other campers don't clean up discards--wrappers, plastic bags, fishing lines--but the... More

So glad management must have heard enough horror stories about the person at the front desk in 2014. We live within 15 miles and go here normally 3 times a year but after the horrible person at the front desk in 2014 we were done with Wellington. Found out they have a new person on the front desk s we... More

Easy to get to from the city. A bit pricey but worth it for the convenience. The bathrooms are gross but you're camping, duh. The lake is beautiful… the hiking is decent and the people who work here are very friendly. Had a great trip and will be back.

The only reason this review gets only a 4 star is because the restrooms need replaced and serviced better. Also a Shower house would give this place 5+ star reviews. The scenery is fantastic. If you want to camp along the tree lined shore and even fish right from your campsite and there are many sites available to do that.... More
