California Welcome Center-Yucca Valley Is A Must Stop!
Mar 2021 • Friends
The California Welcome Center, located in beautiful and scenic Yucca Valley should be everyone's first stop on their California deserts adventure as they travel through Yucca Valley and beyond!
The California Welcome Center has all the information, brochures, maps, historical info that you need to make your travels a great experience-loads of brochures!
They have info on Yucca Valley,Pioneertown,Joshua Tree National Park,29 Palms and information about locations throughout California!
The staff here is friendly, courteous and informative-they also have a Great gift and memoribilia store that features local artist and unique souvenirs, memoribilia and clothing items!
Theres lots of free parking and plenty of space for you to pull through with your RV,truck, camper, off road vehicle, car, van and motorcycle.
They are open everyday, including Sunday when I visited.
The Yucca Valley Chamber of Commerce is here as well with additional services and info-all in one stop!
They also have a local Festival Of The Arts display with pieces from the winning artists as well!
Have a great trip!

Doorway to a wondrous landscape
Feb 2020
The visitor center has a short video and a short outside hike around the oasis. Good as it is, the park is even better, yielding both short and long hiking opportunities. We even saw rock climbers. The Joshua Trees are fascinating.

Super helpful and friendly!

We stopped in to get a few ideas of what to see and do while in Yucca Valley, and the welcome was fantastic! We were shown throughout the center, to special exhibits, long-terms visit possibilities, and items to consider buying. The stop definitely helped to direct our touring for the next several days!

Art venders
May 2019 • Couples
Fabulous art show last weekend outside at the Welcome Center as well as food venders and a DJ. Inside the Welcome Center more art and cool gifts. Informative, knowledgeable staff and the decor was awesome... go visit! If you live here you’ll discover places you’ve probably never been to. AND it’s a must for visitors to our area.

Helpful and informative
Apr 2019 • Couples
The people that work here are knowledgable and helpful. There is a wealth of local info. There are some exhibits and the gift shop is surprisingly good. They stock some good items, better than other souvenir shops in the area.

Helpful staff

We called here in search of local lodgings for one night and a very helpful lady gave us several leads, she warned that due to the tennis at Indian Wells, lots were sold out and others were asking high rates.
We finished up at America’s Best Value Motel, which was nearby and adequate.

Information about the local area was easily accessible. Included was a large wall map of the park.. The two ladies staffing the center were very welcoming and helpful. A wonderful selection of informational books. The local artists' works were plentiful and reasonably priced.

Nice art, gifts & great information
Aug 2018 • Couples
Just on a whim we decided to stop in the welcome center and see what has changed. To our delight they have added a lot of gift items and local artist galleries. From jewelry to paintings and other types of art. It’s not just a map store anymore. But they also have the great information on what to do around the basin. Lets not forget the very friendly & helpful staff.
