We recently had a terrific time at Cliff Lede Winery. We had the 80 min tasting in the art/rock lounge, which was a very unique wine tasting experience. We relaxed in very comfortable leather couches while Pierce served us reds and discussed the wines. They poured some expensive wines during our tasting and we bought a 2008 he had served. He also pointed out the art exhibit featuring art from various musicians. It was really interesting! We masked up while walking around in between sips, but it wasn’t very crowded at all. We had a great, laid back time. I would recommend for music lovers and small groups.

Phenomenol tasting with Pierce! Superior wines, lovely patio setting and really engaging, personable host. We were expecting to like this experience, but it exceeded our expectations. Reds were fabulous, and I truly appreciated their going off menu to accommodate my preferences for whites, Chardonnays in particular. My husband bought several of the reds we tasted, and I bought a case+ of the chards. Will recommend to friends and look forward to returning on our next trip.

We spent a lovely afternoon at Cliff Lede with our incredible guide, Bob. This was one of the vineyards we were most looking forward to during our Napa trip, and it did not disappoint. We loved the relaxed atmosphere and the rock music that played throughout the patio, which was very distinctive in comparison to all the other vineyards we visited. If you visit, I highly recommend trying to ensure you can make an appointment with Bob. He made our afternoon extra-special, and was really the secret ingredient to our visit. Thank you Bob!

We had an unfortunate experience at cliff Lede winery. We arrived quite hungry and first bad sign - all they offer is hard bread sticks and don’t let you bring in food either. Our host Pierce left a lot on the table. He seemed to be stretched thin and we were more than understanding but honestly we were asked to share a glass for one of the tasting as it was too expensive to provide to everyone… really? And then we were stupid enough to want to buy a six pack of it at $225 a bottle - our only request was to be able to buy a wine suitcase they were offering for members. Somehow - Pierce said spending $1500 wasn’t enough to warrant offering us the option to buy the suitcase. Seems pretty ridiculous so we walked out with just a $85 bottle and headed on our way to somewhere that wanted our business.

We have been to Cliff Lede two times before and were dissatisfied after this third visit. The grounds were lovely, as always. We were the only ones there, and were there for 2+ hours. We were not told that the gallery closed (while we were onsite). When we asked about it and were told that it had just closed, we asked if we could possibly walk through. No, was the answer.
We tasted several lovely wines and heard the story of the Rock Band blocks, interesting. When we were ready to purchase and asked to purchase one of the wines we'd tasted, we were told that we had not been given the wine that was on a tasting menu, but another one "that was already open". The server himself laughed and said, "It was a bait and switch". Wasn't funny. We will not return.

Myself and 2 of my wine industry colleagues had an exceptional tasting experience today at Cliff Lede. We were greeted by a very warm and friendly Concierge and hosted by Jenny who was so inviting and friendly. The property is stunning. I have lived in Napa for nearly 5 years and this was my first visit and I'm very glad I finally made it! The wine, hospitality and grounds were the best. I'm looking forward to returning and also to recommending Cliff Lede to the guests that visit the winery that I work for. Really lovely experience!

We were really excited to visit Cliff Lede but the experience was not the grand finale. Wines were good and the tasting experience was pleasant with rock music playing. The T-shirt selection was minimal. High expectations were not met but the rock and roll vibe is a new twist on wine tasting in Napa.

Thank you Bob for your great tableside service, stories about Seattle and just a pleasant visit all around. We totally enjoyed our time with you. You presented the wines with knowledgeable persuasion and suggestive options! Robbi, Bill & Will

My husband and I absolutely love Cliff Lede. We've been members for a couple years and are always happy. If you go for a tasting we recommend doing the reserve tasting.

Friendly service below average wine

The winery's owner Cliff Lede is a classic rock fan. Classic rock music plays throughout the winery and there are some electric guitar signed by famous musicians.

If you didn't make a reservations for a tasting then you can do a walk in tasting at the tasting bar. The wines are young and lack complexity. IMHO it's not worth the price. You can also buy a glass of wine and stroll about the winery. Besides the great classic rock music, we didn't feel like this winery was worth coming back. At the end of the day, it's the wine that we came for and it wasn't that good. The classic rock theme seemed rather gimmicky.

Cheers!
