Main Street Cellars has been closed for almost a year. It was nice in its day. Now occupying the space is Hooby’s Brewery. Definitely worth a visit.

Main Street Cellars was a popular fixture in Winters for several years, but ended up closing in 2018. It was 5 star until then. Their website is still up, with photos of the good times. In its former location is Hooby's Brewing, a craft beer and food venue which will probably still have wine on the menu, just as Main Street Cellars had beer.

Quirky little wine and beer bar. Situated in a building which is part bar with an upstairs which seems to be part office and storage of the owners, there is an extensive selection of different domestic as well as foreign wine and beer. The waiting staff obviously enjoy what they do and are very knowledgeable about their products (and happy to share and discuss that knowledge with free tasters). This all makes for a very jovial and laid back atmosphere which is perfect for a few drinks. The combination of staff, setting and drinks selection in my view thus makes it the best bar in Winters. 1 minor comment which doesn’t hamper the five star rating is that they don’t do cocktails (come on guys, we know you want to) and 2 final tips: they sell drinks for take out too, (i) the Louis Roederer Champagne is the best I’ve ever tasted and very well priced (you won’t find it cheaper elsewhere in the USA) and (ii) they stock a very good selection of wines under $15 which offer great value and taste, definitely worth trying. Would highly recommend.

Main Street Cellars is a nice wine bar with inside seating and also an outdoor patio area. Mike, the owner, is very knowledgeable about wines and really wants you to be happy with your selection. You can taste a bit of the wine before you order a glass. They also serve beer and have bottles of wine for purchase. If you want to enjoy food from a nearby eatery, Mike will set you up with the plates and eating utensils. This is a great place to have a glass of wine or a beer with friends. We really enjoyed our visit!
